I’ve never heard of the Gibson Select line of pickups - does anyone know about them? Seems like they’re different versions of their well-known pickups, but I can’t tell if they’re nicer, or cheaper, or what. This one has a green lead. Searching around turns up zero so far.

Edit: not 4-conductor

That's a random pickup in a Gibson box. That's the old box they used for everything. I have a 500T that came in a box like that with that sticker. But that pickup is not Gibson. Gibson don't use brass baseplates, and their wires are either braided shielded for the PAF-types or gray for the 4-con ones.

Is that a schaller out of a heritage or maybe a fender humbucker? class axe bc rich mik? carvin?

Thanks guys, I wasn’t sure because I had never seen the Gibson Select badge. Looked odd for sure, but I thought it might have just been a special run of them or something.

Nah. I'm not sure how long that box was around, but that badge was on all pickup boxes that came before the current cardboard box they sell their pickups in.

So, I just went and looked, and I have three of those plastic boxes in a drawer. I guess I just didn’t remember them saying Select on them 🫣
