You’re riight in the fact that You the super shred stuff, and that’s OK for.Not true . I think they are all beautiful . Yiu can a lot about a person about their solos . Fuck even a shitty Cobain is still killer in my eyes . I love hearing people just jam .
So loving it or hating it is OK, because one size doesn’t fit all .
I started playing in my 1st metal band in 1980’ and did that till 1988.
I live in Texas so I’m VERY familiar with the country music of the time.
I’d never played it, I was offered a KILLER lead guitar job making promo filler per night.
I woodsheded and learned 40 songs in a month and learned All the vocal harmony parts
I also had to sing some 60’s and 70’s older lead vocals to bring in more material.
Country lead from the 69’s and 70’s are mainly melodic and usually follow the lead vocal or harmonize to the lead vocal .
I made $$$$$ for those 4 years that was triple my day job.
This was Alll weekend warrior gigs.
I saved A lot of money, and when I moved on in ‘91 or ‘92, I had BANK.and was able to join the Biggest Country/ Rock band in the area.
I was able to buy Alll The best Gear of the time.
With this I was able to quit my day job a live comfortably until 2000.
When the band was going to call it quits, they gave us a 6 month notice, so we could all find other jobs.
Everyone found jobs so fast, we shut it all down in a month.
Sold all my gear and BANKED again.
This is when I Really started collecting the guitars and amps I REALLY wanted
All my solos are melodic and very easy to harmonize to .
So for me , It’s melodic or GTFO.
By the way here’s list of my current collection of guitars. and basses.
At one time so had over 100 in my home studio.
Now I’ve meticulously whittled it down to these 40+ guitars.

Here’s some of the primo pedals I own..
All my collection resides in 2 medium size plastic containers in the stiudio.
***Very Special pedals :
The 2 pedals on the left are VERY early Alf Hermida pedals I bought directly from Alf himself when he lived in Florida and was an engineer at NASA? Not really sure about.
In the early days of his side hustle of building Hermida pedals, he would call me weekly to bounce pedal ideas to if it would be something the would sell.
He was bouncing the idea at one time about building a 3 channel MOSFET amp based on the Mosferatu, and half asked what I thought about the idea.
We were Very good friends by then, and I said that a Very Stypid idea.
I said Alf you’re an engineer and this where your brain went.
I said I’d just buy 3 used Mosfuratu’s and set one edge of breakup, the 2nd for distorted rhythm, and the 3rd as your lead pedal.
I told him you might very smart engineer, but you have no common sense dumbass.
I said any guitarist who’s good enough to play out live and knows his shit plays Tube amps.
I said why don’t you try to build a Hermida Tube amp.
I don’t have the money for amp startup.
I said dude you’re an engineer. Right?
Yes , but I’m going through a divorce right now.
I felt like biggest POS in the world for talking to him like I had.
For the next 6 months I was his sounding board/ shoulder to cry on, until the divorce was final, and I didn’t see him again until I ran into him at an Austin Guitar Show in 2014?
Alf was there with Brandon of Bludotone amps out of Colorado.
We got to catch up , and basically the divorce ruined him . He seemed happy, I guess time can sometimes heal the wounds.
I got to a play his HDO? “Dumble” inspired head , I don’t exactly remember the name.
I actually took my ‘99 Tom A Hollow Drop top Classic HSS and auditioned one of the rooms they rented to show case his amps.
My mind was BLOWN away.
I’ll probably never ever get to play a Dumlble in person, but if it sounds at least 2x as good as the Bludotone amp, I can see why command the $$$$$$$$$$$$ they do.
This particular is one of the very 1st batch is 20 he made. I think it has his Autograph and it’s numbered . I think, it’s been so long.
The on next to it is an ULTRA rare double Mosferatu. I never seen another one like it on the internet, but like we know you can never be 100% certain
The last one is a very rare early John Landgraff Dynamic Overdriven Custom Flame paint job for his Bluemoon ? Shop in Florida .
The CRAZY story about this Langfraff. It that this pedal was given to me by a Wealthy doctor in Dallas.
I bought my 2 MKIiC+ combos off E-Bay back in 2003 .
I got the 60 watts with Roadcase for $900 shipped to my door here in Texas
The Bubinga loaded combo also came with a roadclase but cost $1100 shipped .
The MKIiC head I got locally at a second hand guitar shop about 3 yrs ago.
They were Clueless as to what it was and I traded a mint Reproduction Fender Vibroverb Comfo made locally for it .
So in all I have a total of $2600 out of my pocket for all 3 Boogies .
I think that about covers it
I think I going to go to bed now
