Which 25.5” scale, 24 frets ss frets superstrats can hang with Suhr Modern / Anderson Angel?

I'd recommend Warrior, as I have 2, but they're 25" scale. But they have that offset body design kinda like the Suhr. However, most are string thru hardtail, but some can be had with Floyds.

Honestly many imho as I find Suhr's and Anderson's to sound quite sterile IME, but I get guys like the way they look. If there's no budget limit then easily Marchione. Huge fan of my Tao T-Bucket's (technically Super Tele, but whatever). Charvel Aged Nitro Custom Shop's if Marchione is too pricy (I guess they don't typically have ss frets though), although I still would prefer a good Tao and they can be had for less than those

If the Modern Pros sounded even a little like the Satins I'd be all over them.

Love the feel and action but want some character in there... like the Satin, although the Satins sound too-woody / distinctive as "only" guitars.

IOW, somewhere between the two sound-wise. I found the Modern Pro Bengal Burst I owned for a short time to sound "scratchy" and thin. Such a pity.

I like @jski59's suggestion of the GG. Been wanting one since they first dropped years ago. When I tried to order one back then I was told the wait would be more than a year with no guarantees (in Australia).

I agree a lot of them sound scratchy and thin. I had a Satin (which I liked more than some other Suhr's) and think I see what you mean. Maybe it had oil finish. I don't like the sound of guitars with poly or oil finishes. Oil finish guitar I think sound sorta like you described, imo also dry and lacking harmonics. I think good nitro or better Shellac finish guitars have that something between imo you're describing but in other ways also to me just plain better than both

Yamaha RGX Standard if you can find one. I bought one recently and it's a monster in every good way.

This thing would cost around 4-5K if made by Suhr, Anderson, etc.
I paid $549. Yep. Five Hundred Forty Nine Dollars.

Don't laugh. Read this thread I made about my new guitar.

I have a masterbuilt custom shop charvel and a custom modded guthrie govan that can hang with my Tom A's.
With a proper setup I'd imagine many other brands too.I have 2 limited run select charvel dk24s that would qualify also once they have a proper setup from a luthier.

US Charvel DK24 ( have stainless ?) or ESP M-III for example.
Suhr or Anderson are really hard to beat for custom spec as neck profile, nut witdh etc. but also price tag reflect this.
Depend on what bodywood/neck do You prefer. Suhr are usually basswood/maple, maple neck which is very versatile combination but also little bit 'character-less' than usual woods. Also Satins can be a little bit plinky sounding, because Khaya/Okoume wood but it is not bad for heavier music with modern amps.
Govan Suhr's are excellent guitars, Slightly fatter neck profile, genuine mahagony body and neck. There is also Antique GG Modern with nitro finish but basswood/maple, roasted maple neck. Also Andre Nieri signature is fantastic guitar...one of the exceptions as Suhr himself doesn't like maple neck with mahagony body.

Hang on... mine doesn't sound plinky at all.

African Mahogany body and neck. Board is Indian Rosewood.

The models were revamped in 2015 so maybe you're thinking of earlier ones?

I had two brown/natural satins, one FR one G510 and played few others. Plinky maybe isn't the right word but they were thinner sounding than Modern Pro's, but on the other hand they were more resonant and really fetherweight. When they were around 1500E in EU, it was one of the best for buck guitar for versatility and playability. I got most compliments for sound with my metal band when I played Satin into Bogner Helios 100 and Scumaback'd Bogner 4x12.
Khaya/Okoume is what they call African mahagony if I recall correctly.

Now I have custom specced Antique Modern, which is perfect blend between the two Govan's...genuine mahagony body, maple top, mahagony neck with Govan profile, nitro finish, bend saddles Gotoh trem, Tremol-no...it can hang with any guitar I ever had in hands.

Mine's definitely thicker / fuller-sounding than the Modern Pro Bengal Burst I owned, by a mile.

Maybe it varies a bit. The MP was so thin-sounding that just about any guitar would've sounded fat next to it, IMHO. :dunno:

Ahh... gotcha mate; thanks.

Problem with Tao are the looks to me. If only they made a regular shape superstrat, would be cool to try.

Try Carillion

Definitely not for everyone, especially on this forum lol, but I love their look and in person there’s some nice little touches that also add to the sleek avante garde vibe they go for (pics of mine below). On the used market they can sometimes be had in the low $3k range like the ones I got and imo for that price nothing touches them (at least for something similar-ish), but I’d pay a lot more if I had to. They have a unique sound I’ve not heard in anything else besides Deimel who is good friends with them, so they know some of each other’s secrets in builds. The models with the rubbery finish are by far the tightest sounding guitars I’ve heard so far along with Deimel’s
