Soldano X88 IR … I need this!

If I didn't already plop down for the Snorkler, I would highly entertain this. The price isn't as high as I thought it would be tbh. Not cheap but the features are very nice. This year was on fire with gear releases.

Also, YOU NEED THIS for your new DeMartini gig you just landed;)
 
I didn’t care for these too much back in the day. Was too much of a diehard Marshall guy but I think it sounds really good in this vid. Those IR’s sounded great.

Same boat. Might have to keep an eye out for a used one of these in a year or so
 
I had the original back in the day and kinda thought it sucked. This seems to far more flexible and sounds better than my recollections.

Knowing me, I’d buy two to have six channels.

The original just had a very soft sound on the attack no snap, no growl. Granted, it’s been over 25 years since I played one.
 
Sounds and looks great. I already have a SLO, but would really like having this in my studio Desk rack. But hard to think about parting ways with the amp.
 
Sounds pretty killer, with a very nice feature set.

If I didn't have too much gear already, i'd be trying to snag one of these.

That was my thought as well!!
 
I LOVE my SLO-30. Crunch channel surprisingly became my favorite channel and favorite amp to play.

That said, this X88 looks amazing, and I'm rarely caught whining about pricing.

The Friedman IRX is absolutely amazing as well, and has a LOT of the same features (ir's, tubes, software interface looks identical, etc.) and these things are already a dime a dozen used.

While this Soldano looks like something I would love to have, the price point seems excessive.

I think it’s relative. I mean, a fully 3-channel independent SLO preamp minus the power section seems like $1500 less is the right price. $3900 for the SLO which has 1/3 the flexibility.

Keep in mind, this is how I rationalize it!
 
I believe the og 88r was 2600.Which was a real heart attack back in 90'.I have the 88ir inbound this Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm anxious to see how it stacks up against my og 88r.

This is what I’m saying though. I’ve wanted the OG for ages. I really like preamps. I want to shoot it out against my Mezzabarba Nirvana with Metal Mod.
