Bit late to the party but I just got a nib CV-75 as part of a trade. I fn’n love this speaker and I’m not even really a fan of V30’s…..nor have I ever had an Eminence that I liked. So I’m kind of perplexed. It’s tight as hell with a perfect balance of lows, present mids, and a high end with no hint of fizz. I bought another one after 15 minutes of playing it. Gonna drop a pair into my EVH 2x12.

I have a Hellatone 60 (MIC V30) that I had in the test cab (Mojotone oversized, ported Canyon) and it’s a no brainer. I also have the new Avatar AV60 which is similar to the CV-75 but not as tight and has more V30 like high mids. The CV-75 is more like a V30/Greenback hybrid to my ears…….but extremely focused for heavy stuff.

Someone needs to compare this to the new avatar line also ...

I love my CV-75s. I have one with a V30 in an Avatar 2x12 and it sounds fantastic. I also have one in my Mojotone 2204 combo kit clone. Love, love, love it.

Every eminence I have tried has been awesome. Lucky I guess. Not sure why they don’t get more love here… legends 12” and 15”, ms12’s, manowars…. Are black shadows an eminence speaker? They were awesome in the mesa metal grill cabs…

I am really curious about the Swamp Thangs.

Hope you don’t have a dark amp. It’s such a wet blanket.
I like darker chunky tones in general.

I have been looking at the G12K-100, and the Swamp Thang. They seem similar in videos.

I also know the Swamp Thang / Governor mix is popular.

Personally I like the K100s, tough call if it’s my favorite, but I would take those over the ST any day. In person they are not similar enough. Recorded is another story. Maybe if you boosted high end with an EQ pedal… maybe volume helps, but at any volume not requiring hearing protection they are very… meh. I guess the name at least fits.

Many years back I was on a speaker craze and tried a lot of the eminence stuff. I liked Governors, Private Jack, Swamp Thang, Cannabis Rex. Recently tried the Mesa Fillmore which is an Eminence speaker related to the CV-75. Some say it’s the same speaker . Anyways out of all of them that was the most balanced sounding. The Swamp Thang is good but def not balanced, it’s dark and pissed off sounding with a lot of low mid and bass. The cannabis Rex is also very dark but more balanced if you need to tame a bright amp that’s a good choice. Governor is good but is lean in the bass, very focused in the midrange.

I haven't tried the K100s in person, but I have been liking IRs of them. I am considering buying some, but I am annoyed you can only find them new in 8ohm, and I typically buy 16ohm.

I am really sick of the nasal V30 sound. I am liking T75s, but something with less high end, and more thickness on the low end would be nice.

K100 is my favorite speaker of those I've tried.
