New Dumbles?

new dumble amps being sold for normal amp prices, meaning well below the boutique cloner $7-10k prices, would be amazing but not likely.

it would trigger a stampede of vintage dumble owners defending the unsurpassed superiority of their six figure amps even if the new amps turn out to be incredible.

If I had that kind of money to throw away on an original dumble I'd mod the fuck out of it and turn it into a ultra high gain djent machine just to piss off TGP cork sniffers.

I think they will still be relatively high priced. I doubt we see 1500 dollar Dumble. I imagine they will push the price point up to at least Wizard amp levels. It will be interesting to see who makes them. Maybe BAD?

IIRC, Joe Bonamassa has 8 Dumbles, John Mayer has a few...

...together they could select an amp builder and have them clone their Dumbles, and take a cut for each clone of the ones they own.

The estimate is around 300 Dumble amps were made in total.

Probably going to be too rich for my blood, but I'd definitely try to own one if I could.

That said, will wait for reviews on whether these are actually good amps and not just some cash grab to profiteer from the Dumble name.

at first i thought "this is fucking stupid" assuming it was some big company making generic clones, but its two dudes who own the company now and it says they have schematics for every dumble built, if they are hand built using the exact parts and you're basically getting a "real" Dumble, i guess i can understand the appeal.

I don’t know.
The whole process of him building a player an amp makes each one of the amps unique= Dumble.
His purchasing process is pretty rad if your the dude he’s making the amp for.
I totally get what you mean though, if it’s the same parts done just like Howie does it,
-it’s a Bugera!
Dumble did a lot of stuff you’re not supposed to do and made it work., =magic or in Star Wars terms:
The Force.
Placing components in arrangements causing other components to do cool shit that the design could not create.
THAT’S the ‘component’ that cannot be duplicated due to consistency & dependability and even sounding right.
This can contribute to accenting the players flavor of the vibe with the amplifier,.
LTFOL!

What this will do is drive up the price of the OG Dumbles.
Maybe these two builder guys from Norm’s Guitars are building these Re-Dumbles with that profit in mind on the backside when players move onto somethin’ else over at TGP.
Cameron, who lives right down the street and knew Dumble, picked up on this process which takes near supernatural forms of skill to pull off.

I doubt new Dumbles will be any better or any different than any other clones that have been done.

Guitarists aren't know for their intelligence, but if Dumble wasn't the real deal (eccentric, with an idiot-savant level electronics / hearing talent, perfectionist, etc.) I don't think the demand and reverence would have lasted decades.

Many of his actual customers who he built one-off amps for all seemed pleased with their amps; though it's surprising to see the original owners sell them and see what they use instead. Granted, they're worth a lot of money, and risky to take on tour so from a practical standpoint selling make sense...

I'll just keep on believing and telling myself my Super Twin is just as good as a Dumble - and it is, for me.

i get all that, but if the schematics are the secret recipe, and one has access to the exact ingredients and the only real variable is who is putting it in the oven, i say why not let people enjoy that if they are willing to pay. now, if youre going to call it a dumble, there cant be any compromising, its gotta be legit down to what paint was used for the labels.
