Gig report - wet/dry rig

It’s been 6 years since I played a gig. I brought my wet/dry rig, which consists of my 92 stock SLO through 2x12 w/ Mesa V30’s (dry), using a Boss Katana head as a slave for time based effects (detune, delay/echo) through a 1/12 with a Redback. First time I’ve mic’d my rig (used SM57’s). I thought it sounded absolutely killer. Very big, wide, and clear.
I got several compliments on my tone and playing from some other guitarists who were there. They had no idea what wet/dry even is and all of them were asking me questions about my set up.
Don’t have any videos, but I just wanted to share. I’ve missed playing out so much. Life and responsibilities had forced band stuff to take a back seat, but I had an absolute blast playing this gig. There is nothing that compares to playing live music, especially when everything is clicking. It’s a high I can never get enough of. Hope all of you get to experience this feeling, too.
I know we all can get divided on stuff and argue from time to time, but I hope we can all remember that it’s the music and love for guitar that can bring us together. Music really has the power to heal if we let it. Just wanted to share. Hope everyone is doing well!

Nice..............:2thumbsup:I had always heard how huge a W/D/W rig felt/sounded but until I actually built one and played through it could I then appreciate the testimonies of those who had played through them.:yes:

I'm in the same situation...
Now that I can't play live, I enjoy my impractical
w/d/w.....Marshall Hermansson or Cameron Atomica heads with 4 cabs...2 roland sde3000 and eventide h3000 to VHT power amp.....a spectacular rig...that only my friends and I will be able to hear

I'm hoping to do the same thing with my DSL 40Cr. I want to use a stereo delay in the loop and feed a second amp's effects return with the delay. I tried it at home but the delay I have doesn't sound too good when I use the dry out. The volume drops by half when I turn the delay on. I need to get a good digital delay for this.

Splitting the signal up front with a Boss CE-3 sounds killer too but you have a blend of two different amp sounds.

It seems to be a lot easier to set up with a dedicated power amp (or even a powerstation) instead of a second amp, no matter the delay 🤔

You could grab a single space rocktron velocity 50x50 for like 100$ and it would 1. Be wdw instead of wd 2. Probably be easier to set up as long as you have a couple cabinets
