What's your next amp / guitar / pedal?

I am going to buy a nice P bass this year

I don't care about any of that stuff right now but I would like to try a few different humbuckers in the neck position of my Edwards LP. It's not a pressing issue.

well, apparently there's not much love for DiMarzio's these days. I still like them. PAF 59 or 36th Anniversary for oldschool; D Activator-X for modern; or X2N in the bridge and D Activator-X in the neck. IMO

After Christmas I want the white 5150 Iconic 100 with EL34s
It sounds pretty sick man, not sure if you've played one but my bassist friend has the combo at his jam spot and i really like it. I think that one is 6l6 though not sure but it's white.

Big DiMarzio fan here. I have them in about 90% of my guitars. My top favorites in this order are PAF Joe, Evolution, and Breed in the bridge. I typically like an Air Norton or Fred in the neck. I also have a couple of my Icemans loaded with the DiMarzio made IBZ/USA pickups.

I'd take a PAF 59 or 36th any day, but like the PAF Joe just a little more. My ears hear it as a "modern" PAF that works better for me. The Evolution can be finicky, but that's what I like about it. You'll hear every mistake you make, so if forces you to play better. And when you're on point boy does it sing. The Breed is similar but more forgiving than the Evolution.

Guitar- a nice LP; debating on whether I should spend $1500-2k on a nice traditional or standard, or $3-4k on a historic reissue.

Amp- I've had a Suhr SL67 on my mind for a while now, who knows if I'll a good deal on one though.

Pedal- been wanting another cool fuzz, but it'll probably be a random impulse buy. I just bought a Wampler Gearbox last night, because they did a limited release of a cool color :dunno:

I typically stick to local used deals for big purchases these days, so it'll largely come down to availability when I'm ready to buy something. There are some decent online retailers that carry some cool used stuff for reasonable prices also, I may go that route.

I'm trying to limit myself to one big guitar and one big amp purchase per year. This year dropped $1700 on two guitars (USA Strat and Eastman 335) and $2300 on 3 amps (Spawn SuperComp, Fender DRRI, and Orange OR15) so I did OK budget-wise, but I don't have much space left for new toys.

Amp: No plans at the moment but would like a good 2x12, been looking at local ads to find a Mesa one for a decent price.

Pedal: may be a good looper, but again, i have a decent collection and any added pedal would be an impulse buy :ROFLMAO:

Guitar: I have an Ibanez JPM-100 P1 replica being built. Won't be "official" as it will have a Gotoh bridge and Rainmaker/Dreamcatcher but it will be a look alike. Here is the body under progress. And yes, no tone knob!!!

Im on Guitar #4 this year Hanneman jh600ctm , Ec1000 vb, KH-V the GC steal, Jackson RR3. So no more guitars this year. I did pick up a Crate Blue Voodoo 60 for barely nothing, cost me more to retube it than I paid for it, so I've been looking for the matching 412 cab for it, blue tolex, gold crate emblem, just to have a garage amp setup. Not saying I won't buy another guitar this year if the right one shows up haha.

I’ve no space left for more gear and even less justification for buying more. That said, if money and space were no object, I’d like to add some of the boutique amps:

1. Ground Zero Rectifier
2. Larry PMM or Dino
3 Hermansson Marshall
4. Headfirst Alta

Guitar-wise, just a 90s Explorer in white with an ebony board.

Got this bad boy inbound after 16 month wait. Specd it out with my buddy Dan at Brian's Guitars
New Haven? I purchased my first real guitar there (brand new '78 Gibson Les Paul Custom) when I was a kid; my guitar teacher worked there. The day I was looking at guitars to buy, Paul Stanley showed up.

My guitar teach asked if knew who he was, I said no; he said that's Paul Stanley from Kiss, you want to meet him? I said yes (was and still into Kiss); I had a guitar in my hand when my teacher introduced me to Paul who was clearly in a hurry, he picked out several guitars - I recall Brian asking him if he wanted them shipped to the "usual place", and Paul said yes. Then Paul asked me if I liked Kiss, I said yes, he asked what was my favorite Kiss song, I said Hotter than Hell, he reached for the guitar I had in my hand and showed me the riffs, handed the guitar back to me and left.

A few years later I found a used '68 Ric 4001 bass black at Brian's, with the checkerboard binding - the only guitar I regret selling.
