I have a JB in the bridge of my les paul. Been working great but I just pulled it out of the case after a month and now nothing but low volume and no gain.
Neck pickup is working normal. I took the cover off to check for loose wires or bad connections. Nothing.
In middle position you can tell its basically the neck pickup working. Pickup is new and so is the guitar. Any ideals?

dirty switch contacts, flip it back and fourth a bunch and if that doesn’t help, you can get a bit of paper, and use it to try to clean the contact surfaces on the switch. Don’t use sandpaper that will take the plating off, then it will corrode later and stop working again.

If you have electronics contact cleaner that will also work

Alright ? thanks. Yeah I just got a can couple weeks ago.

Update. after going over the wiring I notice the red and white wires were not soldered just taped. So I soldered them and retaped, Bingo!

Thanks for the help

Using the same water treatment on pickups does not work nearly as effectively as it does on speakers IME.

How's a JB in a LP? I've only had it in HSS strats.
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Bright, but not shrill, and compressed with good clarity under gain. Disclaimer: I don't do the chug and I didn't keep the pickup in there but it was definitely usable to a high degree.

What'd ya go with?

I'm still looking for a good neck pickup. I currently have a Seth Lover bridge in there, just to fill the hole. It's ok, but is kinda thin and slightly shrill.
