Dar FBM seekers…

Can't deny that amp looks bad ass!
Controls are laid out really nice too!
It was also way ahead of its time, when released.

I thought these were neat when they initially came out, would love to hear what they’re capable of, given how unique the circuit design (presumably) is. I’m pretty sure I’ve only ever heard shitty cellphone clips.

Though maybe telling that fredrik doesn’t even have one, never recorded anything with one, nor pursued the general design again.

Isn’t there something different going on with the preamp section of these? I think I recall reading it was digital.

I do get surprised that guys haven’t cloned some of these real rare amps and sell them. Just from the insane prices that people pay for them.

Wonder in any Kemper, ToneX, QuadCortex, etc. profiled it? I don't know of any modelers with DAR amp models...

so there's that

what was the deal with the DAR dude?? wasnt there some kind of unfortunate story with him?

Who here has owned one?

I remember when I was saving the cash for one and then poof they disappeared. From what I’ve read they were very unreliable so I’m glad I never got one but again, I’m curious who here has played one and what are your thoughts

I've played Martin's a good bit. It's definitely brutal and unique. I keep telling him to sell it cuz he'll never get it fixed if it breaks. Lol. But it's his most favorite thing in the world. I doubt he'd sell it, even for that price.

I had a DAR FBM and Forza and tried a Tuzzia. I wouldn't consider any of them great amps, but just like the shiny poly drenched guitars that many here love, they at least had looks going for them lol and the carbon fiber tolex on the Forza felt really cool

They all sounded a bit synthetic, but not as badly as many other amps. The Forza and Tuzzia sounded sort of like the KSR's to me in some ways, but not as good. The FBM I had sounded bigger, more powerful and modern, but still synthetic and not great tone. I kind of expected that with the FBM, but was hoping it would at least be crazy tight, but it's nowhere near super tight like a Hermansson or Hell Razor, both of which are far superior amps. Fwiw, some say the serial # of the one I had may not have been as good, but none of the 3 I played were imo great amps, but they looked awesome lol. Not as distinctive sounding as I was hoping for either given the looks and innovate designs

Quit fingering my bitch, fucker!!
He is absolutely correct. If I was broke and homeless, I'd sell everything else in my collection and be using the FBM in it's road case as a pillow. But part of that amp is the story that came with it. It has crazy sentimental value from the very darkest time in my life. Bloodrock was there in real time as it happened and stood beside me to help me though it. There were others that helped too...but there's a reason that amp resides in his care, along with my most favorite guitars and other very special amps. It is even in my will, and goes to someone who also helped me along from afar, whom I have never actually met in person.

There's some out there on the Kemper, sounded nothing like that Ola demo from what I remember but I wasn't a Wizard dialing that unit in fwiw
