The IIC+reissue goes live Dec. 3rd. $3599

Oh man, the demos are going to make or break this one. For that price, there is basically no reason not to just go for a Mark VII unless the one sound the IIC+ reissue can do is just significantly better than any single sound the Mark VII can do.

The IIC+ is going to have to sound fantastic, not just by itself, but directly compared to the Mark VII.

Unless everybody just buys it for nostalgia, which I mean come one what guitar player would buy a IIC+ for nostalgia, amiright? :D

This reissue better be accurate right down to the lack of a back panel:

Production or limited edition?

Rumor is that it's a production run for now, but production will slow or stop once people stop ordering it.
No idea how low the threshold for "not enough orders to keep building" would be, or how long Gibson/Mesa plans to wait between "not enough orders" and production stopping, though.

If they do the IIC+ reissue correctly, it should sound much more open and raw than the Mark VII. I had a Mark VII for a short while and it was incredibly compressed and small sounding. If you played a Mark VII and a real IIC+ back to back it would be a night and day difference.

I dunno. Ola did a video directly comparing the VII and an original IIC+ and they sounded almost identical, with the VII having just a hair more extended highs. Low end was about the same though.

I've never compared them directly so I couldn't say, but yeah the best A/B tests I've heard other people do made them sound extremely close.

Not saying you didn't hear what you heard obviously... just saying what I've heard from listening to other people playing them.

Open and raw is completely opposite how I would describe my iic+??

Well..HEY MESA dude scouting the webs for
real life experiences with your amps!!
-get the Msster volume up to speed with todays Master Volume controls.
I’m not gonna start a list of lunacy ,
if there’s ONE thing that zi’d get sorted it would be the Master Volume capable of Madison Square Mouse Fart volumes etc.
The OG IIC+ is actually the cat in the bird seat
when it comes to ruthless power over any f’n Wizard.
Wizard’s really aren’t all about loudness..,
It’s not about the size of the wand..,
-it’s about the Wizard behind it.

I’ll take a rain check just like with the Mk7.
Here’s comes our very own ‘Manny’ with the awesome in depth Mesa amps YT video.
I’ll prolly score one used a few years from now or just get a real one.

Dino just spit truth. Me personally…probably a pass for me. Mark 7, Jp2c, synergy 2cp, mark 4, mark 3, mark 2b and then c+ reissue. That’s probably my order of preference on these. Of course I have never played or seen a 2c+ so take this with a grain of salt. I’m an inexperienced gamer when it comes to mark series. I have only played and owned a 4. Just not hyped over this for some reason and I am a legit mesa fanboi.

MB should've added a "++" mode like the "shred" mode on the JP2C.

Also I'm very skeptical to say the least that it will stand-up to any of my 3 OG 1984 MKIIC++s.
As a matter of fact... I'm doubtful it will sound as good as any of the of the MKIII++s I have either.

I also hope the there is a Triple Recto Reissue... just not the Dual.

... just sayin...

Yeah I AB'ed once my IIC+ HRG or the VII and the VII sounded very sterile in comparison (no richness to the sound, nothing raw or organic about it), the feel was also much stiffer. It was a classic "from concentrate" vs fresh squeezed oj type of comparison. The flavor itself was there, just not the quality off sound part. I did though kind of like how the VII had a lot of highs on tapped if desired

He means open and raw compared to a mark VII. I think your's is also a simul-class version iirc, which is also smoother and a bit more compressed than the pentode HRG versions. I would say though to me any version mark iic+ or iii is more raw sounding than any amp I've tried from maybe the mid-90's onward as older amps just always by nature seem to sound more raw than recent ones sounding more civilized, but it's not as raw like a vintage NMV Marshall or '50's Fender Tweed being some of the rawest sounding amps IME. I guess for it's time the iic+ was a very polished, smooth sounding amp as funny as that sounds for me to say

I have a feeling the guts will be totally different.
Yeah I would be shocked if it's an actual clone of the original in terms of the construction method. It'll likely be a stripped down MkVII, let's face it.

And even if they sound identical, there will be no consensus on this. Some will say it's perfect, others will say it's close but lacks mojo, and some that it's a miserable failure.

Doesn't really matter, any time people are buying tube amps I reckon the world is still salvageable.
