Interestingly, the sweetwater rep who told me had zero info on the Rectifier reissue.
Production or limited edition?
If they do the IIC+ reissue correctly, it should sound much more open and raw than the Mark VII. I had a Mark VII for a short while and it was incredibly compressed and small sounding. If you played a Mark VII and a real IIC+ back to back it would be a night and day difference.Oh man, the demos are going to make or break this one. For that price, there is basically no reason not to just go for a Mark VII unless the one sound the IIC+ reissue can do is just significantly better than any single sound the Mark VII can do.
The IIC+ is going to have to sound fantastic, not just by itself, but directly compared to the Mark VII.
Unless everybody just buys it for nostalgia, which I mean come one what guitar player would buy a IIC+ for nostalgia, amiright?

I am curious how this one will come out honestly.Your slo will destroy it . Don’t fall for this one
I think he just means comparatively. All marks have an inherent compression to them.Open and raw is completely opposite how I would describe my iic+??
Yeah I AB'ed once my IIC+ HRG or the VII and the VII sounded very sterile in comparison (no richness to the sound, nothing raw or organic about it), the feel was also much stiffer. It was a classic "from concentrate" vs fresh squeezed oj type of comparison. The flavor itself was there, just not the quality off sound part. I did though kind of like how the VII had a lot of highs on tapped if desiredIf they do the IIC+ reissue correctly, it should sound much more open and raw than the Mark VII. He means open and raw compared to a mark VII. I think your's is also a simul-class version iirc, which is also smoother and a bit more compressed than the pentode HRG versions. I would say though to me any version mark iic+ or iii is more raw sounding than any amp I've tried from maybe the mid-90's onward as older amps just always by nature seem to sound more raw than recent ones sounding more civilized, but it's not as raw like a vintage NMV Marshall or '50's Fender Tweed being some of the rawest sounding amps IME. I guess for it's time the iic+ was a very polished, smooth sounding amp as funny as that sounds for me to sayOpen and raw is completely opposite how I would describe my iic+??
Yeah I would be shocked if it's an actual clone of the original in terms of the construction method. It'll likely be a stripped down MkVII, let's face it.I have a feeling the guts will be totally different.
