What rare/obscure amps have you owned?

1 Langner DCP-1 Creator Pre Amp

*1 Langner's DCP-1 Elite Pre Amp

Langner modded ADA MP-1 Pre Amp

Rocktron/Egnater Vendetta

Rocktron/Egnater TOL 100

That'd be it for me in terms of rare/obscure.

* Updated - I added my other Langner pre which I assume was the Creator. The front panel was the cream green panel, not anodized and the chassis was not very sturdy. Amazing sounding pre-amp though. On the Elite, I honestly don't know if it was an Elite or not, yes it had the two pots but I spoke with Todd do some extra gain and tonal modifications on my second unit and I've always assumed it was in the Elite Chassis. It had alot more gain than the first one however it was a bit wooly, took more fine tuning to dial it in. Unfortunately I had already promised the sale of the first pre-amp (which I preferred) to a friend and I honor my promises. Todd was a great guy and I feel lucky to have been able to speak with him directly. Todd's pre-amps were my last pre's used in my rack days as I would soon discover the OG 5150. I was introduced to Todd by a friend who used to mod the Yamaha Soldano's and would pick his brain on idea's.

My rack SLO is the only somewhat rare thing in my stable. About 50 made total and only a handful with factory 230V power tranny.

How does it sound ??? A quick review would be great if you don't mind !
It is very similar to Soldano X99 preamp but slighly more pissed off sounding. Also the power section is more 'intense' than SLO, on the same level as Wizard maybe even more. Soldano is more compressed and slightly easier to play.

Thanks ! Sounds interesting ! I may have to get one just to check...

Maybe reach out to Vandenberg? He's probably got a a couple racks full of 230v Soldano stuff in storage that he never uses anymore.

I think Vandenberg has a SLOR, not a SM100R.

Nothing crazy rare or esoteric but regret selling all of these:
-early 90's SLO with Haynes/DeMartini/Depth mods
-71 Marshall Superbass with Friedman Kitchen Sink mod
-multiple Cameron-modded Marshalls - Jose and Aldrich
-Cornford MKII

Son of Mesa or Son of Boogie amp
It was a tube amp for only $200. The back controls had the switch title made by a label maker. It really sounded like crap but after messing with it for quite a while, I found a few really good tones. The controls are like a top secret combination lock. Once you know your way in, you need to write down the settings.

Kustom PA head mounted to a stand.
This was a Germanium SS amp that didn't sound too bad. The clipping actually sounded like a fuzz pedal and not too shabby. I used it for a guitar amp but ended up selling it off later on. I was going to just trash the stand because it was sort of rusty, but I put it on ebay and it got bid up to $75. That's almost what I paid for the whole deal!

Guild
60s Thunderbass tube head. Wasn't impressed enough to keep it very long.

Fisher
This was a phono amp modified to be a guitar amp. Has a nice EF86 front end! Non master volume and a LOUD 20ish watts! Sounds Marshally. Still have it.

Traynor YBA1A
Under rated. Sounds very loud and Marshally and easy to work on. The top flipped up with a schematic on the underside and exposing the turret board below. Pretty cool.

Triwatt.
A 20 watt amp. 6V6 tubes built on a Hiwatt circuit but only about 20W. This was like a kit amp I think.

Supro
Valco 1x10 octal tube combo built in the late 40s, OT on the speaker, sounds pretty dang good.

Gibson GA30 combo
Late 1940s with octal preamp tubes and the OT on the speaker. Someone set it out on the curb and my friend found it. He is a head banger so he sold it to me for $200. It worked and sounded pretty sassy.

81 Fender 75 head
This 1980s thing was one messed up design! It was like a blanket was glued over the speaker cab, couldn't get a good tone out of it to save my life.

Sound City
Hiwatt CP103 clone amp based off Pete Townsend's early Sound City amp…. it was an actual Sound City cab and chassis, very close to what the Hiwatt ended up as. It was a project I picked up for cheap and finally got it working after messing with it quite a while. It is SUPER loud, holy crap!!

I guess that's about it...

It's rare or obscure because I've never seen another 1975 Marshall 1959 SLP with so many mods.
Clean channel, drive channel and adaptable solo boost...all footswitchable.
Very good effects loop that can be fully bypassed.
Resonance control.
3 Way bright switch.

Some rare / obscure one that I’ve had or have:
