Hey Guys—I have an early serial number Mark IIC head that was converted to a C+ by Mike B at Mesa. It does not have reverb, but does have the graphic eq and full/half power switch. I’m thinking of selling and wanted to see what reasonable market value is for one in excellent condition.

Thanks!

Best value is gifting it to me ofc. You get lifetime daily prayers for you in return 😂

But yeah, depending on vattage. I seen people list them simuls for 8-10k even, but that’s crazy if you ask me.

Can you share what power secriton it has? That matters.

Is it a combo, or a long or short head? Also matters.

Did Mike also do a cap job & service with the mod? How old are the caps?

Hey Guys—here are some pics of the amp.

Yes—Presence moved to front and Graphic EQ is also there. Full/Half power switch as well.

A long head, nice! I suppose the graphic EQ has been added as it has a Mark III faceplate.
What power section? All long heads have the full/half power switch on front, so that doesn’t say much if it’s 100/60W or simul-class.

$6-7k Seems fair if you have the documentation of the mods/work done to it by Mike B. If you don't have documents, firing off an email to Mesa and at least having a confirmation that it's a IIC+ in your inbox will smooth things over in a deal. Yours is somewhat of a rarity because it's a longhead. That's why the Presence Knob and Full Power/Half Power stuff is on the front. IMHO that makes it much more desirable, the presence knob and half power on the back was always a pain point for me with these amps.

Also just because it was converted later doesn't mean it's any less of a IIC+. Some enthusiasts will try to bully you down on price because it's not a "factory IIC+". A IIC+ is a IIC+ whether it left the factory that way or if it was converted today. They are functionally identical according to Mike B.

Actually LONG head which is a bonus, unclear if it's a HG or a DG (more popular), have to see of the OT says SIMUL or not. Presence on the front is a bonus. I'd call that average condition cosmetically. In the current market I'd say $6K tops and it may not sell fast at that price. $5K seems more reasonable ATM with the reissue coming out soon.

Power section is 100/60 (4x6L6s) with full/half power switch.

Yes—I put it up on Reverb, and it literally sold in under five minutes. I will really miss it. Definitely one of the best amps I’ve played.

Beauty of an amp! Congrats on the fast sale!

Who nabbed it!? @c+addict ? 🤣
