Iron Maiden Destroyed Last Night

My 1st 2 Maiden shows were with Blaze. Fuckin tough times
Redeemed myself with Ed Hunter in '99 when Bruce and Adrian returned. Now that was a setlist. On acid no less 😂
Saw them many times after.
Also got to go onstage for Heaven can Wait in '08
I thought it was cool they did a Blaze song!

That's a great set list. Love that they are not just rocking the usual suspects. From what I have seen, Bruce sounds great this tour but Nicko might be slipping. He's started simplifying his parts but the end product is still excellent. Did you notice that at all?
Yep i did for sure. There was kind of a slow gallop to his playing. After his stroke, I bet it is hard for home but he is a bad ass. When he came out to throw sticks, the place went so loud. Everyone loves that guy.

i really never have, the few songs on the radio they play never grabbed me in any way, i somehow never knew anyone that was really into them where i would hear them just by chance, i really honestly couldnt even name one of their albums. it sounds kind of crazy to me even saying that now thinking about how big the are
Do me a favor and listen to just the 4 minute mark and thru the solos in this song "Death of the Celts". I'd never heard it until the show. Just great solos and tones:

I saw the show in Newark, NJ last night - freakin' awesome. "Death Of The Celts" alone proves this band is not a travelling jukebox.

Opening band was The HU. I was really disappointed they didn't do "Pinball Wizard", " Behind Blue Eyes" none of the hits:p:giggle:

Us too!!! That blew me away. They skipped on a bunch of "hits" but man it was so good.
Saw them twice on the Number Of The Beast tour and many times after . They played Sacramento last month , they were great and the setlist was the same as yours. The lack of classic songs didn’t surprise me , Maiden is known to do that . They didn’t play Run To Hills in Oakland in 2017 but that show had a few classic songs thrown in. Supposedly next year they’re gonna do a tour that covers the stuff from 1980 thru 1990

This wasnt a hits tour, the past 2 or 3 tours was hits, and their next tour is gonna have the hits again which starts next year. This tour was a chance to play some songs on senjutsu and play songs off somewhere in time which hadnt been played in a while other than the usual wasted years. Fans have been wanting a tour with more tracks from somewhere in time, so its cool they did it on this tour.

I love that they change it up!! The set worked awesome with the mix of songs. I've seen the hits. I was in Heaven hearing Somewhere in Time as an opening and went back in my mind to Sophomore year, whrn I first heard that album.

I've never seen Maiden live, but in recent years they really have an aversion to playing the legacy songs people want to hear....:dunno::lame:

Glad you dug it. I saw them here a few weeks ago and it sucked. Nico bless his heart needs to hang it up. The "third" guitar guy has got to go. The end for me was during one of the tunes when Eddie comes out and Janick was running around stage in between his legs and went went full Milli Vanilli, like he was playing but there was nothing plugged in at all, no wireless pack and not his 50' cord that his tech was managing all night. Also noted Murray was hard line plugged in too, no wireless. To be fair I haven't really paid attention to their new stuff post Piece of Mind s 95% of what I heard was new to me, and they were my favorite band for many years. I saw them 2 yrs ago here in PDX and it was mind blowing, but this show they went budget and had a guy running back and forth manually changing backdrops.

Love the Hu! Sadly have never managed to get a Maiden concert. Have managed to always miss them, frequently with some bizarre thing coming up on the night they're in my area.

my fist concert was maiden and wasp at reunion arena in Dallas

Since then I have been to 31 maiden shows. from california to new york
amsterdam as well.

Adrian Smith is simply a badass on guitar. IMHO.

up the irons!!!

Saw them last Friday in Pitts.with the HU.Very interesting band.Prettt neat thing they got going on.
Maiden sounded excellent. Bruce must've took care of his voice as he really belted it out all night, never weakening. Guitarists were using jvms.

no what they do is they alternate what they play for each tour.. one year will be a "hits" type of tour then the next will be more focused on an album from a certain era.. I think its awesome instead of a every other legacy band just playing the same 15 songs year after year

Saw them in October in St Paul MN. Awesome to hear some older songs. They played and sounded great. The HU was was also very unique and good.
