Just scored my second Modded Marshall from Brian / Screamindemon here on the forum. I purchased a modded Metro Plexi build from Brian 7 or maybe 8 years ago and it is hands down the best sounding amp I have ever owned. Several heads have come and gone through the stable since acquiring the modded Plexi and nothing else has risen to 'keeper' status.

Shortly after snagging his Plexi build, he listed a 2203x that he modded and I just wasn't in a position to snap it up. I 'think' he reconsidered and decided to keep that amp. Well, that's the amp that he listed in the classifieds here a week or 2 ago, and I wasn't going to miss out on it twice. It arrived today - bulletproof packing - and I could not be happier. I ran it through the paces and it just sounds incredible. Very similar to the Plexi - which I love - but definitely brings its own slightly more modern flavor to the table. So many options - all of them 'usable.' Ultra low noise, transparent loop, and tone for days. I will need to get it dialed in (which will be the easy part) and then try to get my chops warmed up enough (that's the challenging part) to do the amp justice with a few clips. I told Brian it has the core tone of a truly great Marshall, all the slippery, greasy 'fun to play' feel of a Cameron / Gower and all the articulation and string separation of a VHT / Fryette. I'm not sure how he does it, but I'm glad he does!

These are the pics from the classified listing. I need to shoot a few of it in its new home with its long lost Plexi sibling. I'm stoked.

So this is just a 'teaser' clip. This is actually the Plexi that Brian did. This was back in the day before King Edward passed and before it became 'passe' to do the VH tribute thing. My buddies and I did a super low key, jam through the first 2 albums at a local watering hole. I had just gotten this plexi and was dialing it in to use for that lil' gig. This is literally an iPhone in the room with zero eq - nothin. Earthquaker Dispatch Master in the loop. Nothing between the guitar and the amp but my cord. I will try to get something similar to this up for the newly delivered 2203 over the weekend. Its a bit more modern, a bit more low end, a bit more of everything, to be honest! I love having them both!!! Brian really knows his way around the chassis of an amp. (And he builds pretty mean race cars, too!)

I know, I know - I gotta' get a couple of clips up. I hope to God I can capture the magic that is happening in the room. This amp truly is a Beast. I did a bit of a cosmetic project today - pulled the old black grill cloth and white piping in favor of Salt / Pepper with Gold piping. Then prepped and sprayed the Marshall Logo with Gold Metallic. Has a bit of Zakk Wylde flavor now, and matches my Salt/Pepper cabs! Clips coming over the Thanksgiving weekend, I promise!
