No matter how hard you try. There’s an Asian kid on the internet that does it better.

Yup. Introduced at an early age. That’s cool! Amazing, really.

One of the biggest eye openers for me as a parent was learning the reason many Asian kids excel in school is because they start tutoring (math and reading) at the age of three or so.

So by the time they are freshmen in high school, they are already learning college-level or even advanced engineering math via outside tutoring. Once I learned that, my daughter was one of the only caucasian kids amongst hundreds of Asians at a local tutoring facility. Heh

Yes, but you can never tell how good someone really is unless maybe they make a video just playing thru a real amp, no backing track, no gate, no production or anything. Just in a room thru a real amp with a mic or even a cell phone recording, so you can hear every little thing. Then you can tell if someone can really play!

I hide behind reverb and delay like it's my job. My dry tone is too honest for my tastes hahahah

When you start out with no bad habits, you can get that good. Unlearning the bad habits slows down the progress.

the internet is a fucked up place.
it really shows every average person the extreme BEST and WORST of humans.
its bad for your brain. i remind my kids of this every chance i can get.

as a musician, you probably learned within the first year of playing that there is ALWAYS going to be some old master, or young hot shot doing things with the guitar that you would have never thought of or have been capable of. thats just the way it is. you can woodshed it and get as good as you can get, but the same rule applies. Guitar is a means of channeling, expressing, purging emotions. If you're really technically skilled, its just icing on the cake.

That's it! It's over! I'm selling all my gear (except a couple guitars and an amp, cmon), and resorting to recording with plug-ins at home. Never posting a video again.
