I am a weird gear nerd

If I had known the joy of an amazing amp earlier, my collection would have more amps and less guitars. It has begun to balance out a touch with age. A great amp is just absolutely magical. A great guitar can be too, but the amp is how the voice of the instrument is expressed.

I got this piece of shit Ibanez art 100, which is like a LP copy of some sort, it's really cheap but solid. Put a duncan distortion in it and it has great tone IMO, plays great too. I also have an LTD Viper which i'll never part with... actually don't own any guitars in the $1,000+ range right now. All cheap shit.

Saying not to buy more guitars and go with a $99 fella? Thats heresy in a gear forum is it not? (Supposed to be a joke)
I suppose so. He'd deffinitely be looked down upon by lots and his opinion on gear would probably not matter at all. You gotta have a Wizard, NMV Marshall or a IIC+ and many custom shop Jackson's, Gibson's or ESP's for your opinion to matter here, it's true.

No amount of cheap guitars will ever equal one good guitar. "Good" doesn't always mean "expensive" either. When I see people with huge collections for sale, I laugh because it means someone figured it out. They find the right guitar and sell the rest. Really the only reason to have more past that is to have a backup for gigs.
That is where im at. I have my electric and my acoustic

I like both; I've been on a buying spree the last few years to get everything I want before I retire. Once I retire, major gear purchases will take more thought, planning and probably need somethings sold to cover.

I have 31 guitars, and unless something new is announced, my next major gear purchase will be another guitar (EBMM Majesty 6).

I have around 13 amps, number #14 is on its way (Bogner Helios Eclipse), but I usually use my computer guitar rig, FM9 or Helix Floor for convenience and volume levels...I have an attenuator new in the box, since I just crank my tube amps and wear earplugs.

Also finally have most of the keyboards I want; unless something new, different or unexpected is released; as things are now, the only keyboard I plan to buy in the future is a new workstation to replace my current workstation (Roland Fantom EX); however, I may skip the next generation - all depends on how much more advanced the next gen workstations are vs current gen.
