Behringer Centaur

I've never been a Klon guy. That being said, I picked up a Notaklon last year and can get some really, really great tones out of it. Thought it would basically just be a fun little thing. Super useful pedal in my circumstances. The Behringer looks cool, and has a small footprint. If they got this as close sounding to the original as the Not, I'm definitely down.

At the same time I say that, shady business and production practices are always rumored.

$69? Damn man, that's cheap.

If ManBun could shut the fuck up for more than 3 seconds at a time, I could make a better assessment, but from what I can hear it sounds LOT honkier than the original or the better klones like the Archers. I like the smaller form factor and I love the fact that they didn't try to call it something else like Certiatone's Centura or WA's Centavo. Just "I've got it, we'll call it the Centaur!".

I've had good luck with Behringer, especially with analog synths. They've made many of the unobtainium synths available to us mortals. I have a Beheringer 2600 and Odyssey (Arp), Poly-D (Moog miniMoog with polyphony) and System 55 (Moog); buying the originals is not practical on my budget.

For example, the Moog System 55 reissue: $35,000; Beheringer System 55 (Eurorack), $1500. I'm sure an original Moog System 55 is well over $100K

Do I need another Klone? No. Will I buy this one? Probably. 🤦‍♂️

I'm sure this will be well received news in some online guitar sites.
If you mean TGP, I doubt that thread won’t get locked by the 1st page. Hell, you can’t even have a serious discussion about Vertex pedals over there without the thread getting immediately locked and OP banned. God I fucking hate that forum

I have been testing a clone my buddy built. Cost him at around $40 plus the time to construct, etc. $69 is pretty damn reasonable if you ask me.
the only problem with the " cheap " klones is that they are all SMD parts ...... some pedal circuits sound just fine or maybe even better with SMD .... and some don't ... the Klon circuit done with SMD parts is one of the don'ts IMO

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't really dig the little klone, at least not nearly as much as the Notaklon. Pretty enjoyable pedal and my first ever Klon style.
Got it when they first came out because I liked the idea. Had fun with the light assembly.

I get more use out of it than I ever thought and really dig that sound.

I have to say this: there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that your version of the pedal sounds absolutely superb. Looking forward to the day I have one in the mail.
