My grandpa came from Italy back in 1911 and landed in the Richwood coal mines.
I may have some kin out in those parts.

I’m from greenbrier county. Worked in Beckley for years till I transferred. Go through richwood quite often to visit family in Pocahontas County. Now is the time it starts getting sketchy coming across kinnison mountain. Different world up there. It’s bitten me in the ass a couple times traveling through there. Clear here and fuckin white out and a foot of snow up there. Richwood is the last little bit of civilization before hitting the mountain.

Didn't know you're in WV. I spent several years of my childhood there, but it's been awhile. Way down in the southern part - road winds in/out of WV and VA to the little unincorporated town. Visited as an adult......about 30 years ago!

I cant see any civilization there 115 yrs ago either lol.
I think pops was there about 15yrs.
Then landed in Brooklyn.
No one is sure of the stories timeline.
Although he always called WV his true home.
He always smiled when anyone asked him about it
