Interesting. I've had several but none more recent than an '07 (I had a blue one from the 90s with the extra preamp tube for channel 1 etc).

They definitely got brighter over time.

I liked them all but channel 3 always seemed too "pinched" or squished. Maybe I'd love the newest one.
That's what i'm thinking as well :D

Yup...that sounds like a latest revision VH4. Definitely not for everyone, but very unique. This is a polarizing amplifier. Players seem to either really love, or hate them.
This certainly sounds brighter on the top end and less hi fi compressed. I like it! Please say it isn't so like I need to buy another Diezel VH4 again...:p

You guys suck. Now I need a new VH4.

Is it just the '24 models?

The latest revision include a dramatically improved chan 2...more gain, more open and really nails a refined, mod Marshall tone. Chan 3 is brighter, less compression and again more gain available. Chan 4 was previously only really usable as a lead Chan....now is a killer rhythm channel as well. More open, brighter and more aggressive overall.
That sounds great. From what I remember, I really wanted a channel 2 1/2: channel two with more gain but less squashed than channel three. This could be the ticket.

Peter Diezel is an awesome all around guy and his amps are built like tanks, so I want kinda bummed I ended up selling off his amps. Will definitely look into a new one now.

This video does a good job of highlighting the attributes of most recent VH4 revision:
