What does the knob to the left of the speaker jacks do?

Is there a lead channel boost switch?

The amp has an tube driven effects loop, the control is the loop return level. I need to put a label on it.
The boost for both channels if tied to one switch, I did this so I could use just one TRS footswitch jack.

An original Wizard MCII goes for 50 watt - 5495.00 USD, fyi BUMP!!
 
How do these things stack up against the originals?

A circuit is a circuit, but obviously component selection is a big variable.
