New Year’s show

Anyone playing tomorrow night? I got a show at the local Kuntry Klub. 730-1. Ohhhf. I like the 5-9 shows as I age. We had band camp the other night to prepare and it went well. That means no one will practice for two days and we will suck a fatty. Ehhh. Fuck it.
 
Wow, 4 hour gigs died in the 90's and you are playing 730-1? I think I've played one show that was 4 hours since then and it was truly a shit gig. Everything here is 3 hours.

I avoid Halloween, New Years, Memorial day weekend, and July 4th stuff. Amateur hour. People who don't drink go drinking and are not skilled at drunk driving like regular drunks are. They tip like shit cause they aren't regulars, just self indulgent drunks on a one night bender, and there are tons of cops on the road who are no refusal blood drawing people with a judge up all night to sign the warrant on demand. The last couple new years dates I had were foul weather, and a waste of damn time. None for me unless the money is serious. Good luck alund.

I'm going to get lit up with a few friends, watch a band and then criticize the guitar player for not hitting the Bark at the Moon solo note for note, lol. :LOL:

First New Years we won’t be playing in a few years and we’re all looking forward to it
 
Yes it’s a long show but once in a while doesn’t bother me. It’s my band so I get to talk shit all night about anything. I don’t drink while playing (that’s like driving drunk) so I just wait until after the show. My band gets paid and I don’t. I do it because I just enjoy the 6-10x that I play throughout the year. Mustang sally would be played in another band-not me. I enjoy playing oddities like; brick in the wall, more than a feeling, edge of 17, fat bottom girls…. They tend to get the crowd more enamored with the nostalgia vs being hammered and dancing like a pogo sticks. I used to do a lot more 80s metal but it’s a niche crowd so I pick from everything. Instead of catering to the crowd, we cater to our own wants… if I could pick a time in music history where I could stay I’d say 77-85. And I remember that time quite well- on one hand you had Rupert Holmes, Chic and and the other was Eddie, Randy and Steve. It’s great to pull out Fantasy by Aldo Nova or Heat of the moment and watch everyone sing it. 20 year olds singing to I was made for lovin you and old geezers hammered singing Hold the line. That gets me about 1/2 chub behind the guitar…

Oh and @Techdeth …. I got home at 9 after doing shit all day. And you should be fucking that chick who came into town for you not jerking off on RT. ?
 
I like NYE shows and miss them. I had a Casino run of 6 straights years of great times and god money last decade pre COVID. I am not motivated to do those nights now because I am older and lazier and the money and gig would have to be good.

4 hour shows are pretty standard where I live and that is how we do it. But the times are earlier now (which I like) vs pre COVID era. More like 8-12 vs 10-2.

The pedal board into the Myasnikov which splits out to PCM80 which stereos out to the SDktg2100 then to Thiele GK wet cabs x2. And the second off the Myasnikov to the PS2 which goes center dry into Marshall cab. The lexicon also stereos into the H90 on the micro pitch lightly for bigger sound. It was a missing piece until that thread the other day.

There was a movie back in the early 80s. I think it was “midnight madness”. Staring some goofy 80s characters including flounder from animal house. There was this chick who would stay upstairs in the frat house or something and fuck dudes and you would need regenerative injections after fucking her. Does that ring a bell to anyone ?
 
Gearing up for the best paying gig with fillet/lobster dinner included tonight!! Couple of folks sitting in on vocals should be fun and our 4 piece band is making 3k
Did the same show last year. Upscale country club with really nice folks. Easy set up and the pay makes going out on NYE totally worth it. 3x each what we normally get paid which of course will be used towards another amp i. don't need and will likely sell for less in 6 months :eek:
