That's cool. I have so many tubes and components that I have been thinking about trying my hand at making something like that.
Is that the same guy making the crab amps that have been showing up here recently?
 
I’m curious what kind of voltage is hitting those tubes with a 12 V, wall wart but the pedals sound good regardless.
He has a really nice deluxe Reverb one and also one called the dominator which is a 5150 that also sounds pretty good.
He also makes a pretty decent mark III amp and pedal.

May have a boost converter in there to derive high voltage, I did similar once for a tube buffer pedal I made, 12vdc in for heaters in series, and also to run a cheap boost converter board I got off eBay. Worked fine for about 5 minutes until the boost converter exploded, never got around to fixing it
 
I asked him on YouTube what voltages are at the tubes and he said 300V. Wasn’t sure if that was possible starting with 12V in a pedal size enclosure.
 
I have his Satan 50 watt amp clone and his Mark IIC+ is being built. Solid stuff.

What did those run you with shipping if you don't mind me asking. What was the waiting period?

Nice, flying leads from pots/switches and chassis mounted sockets. I’m curious what higher volume sounds like as he uses toroidal output transformers.

The 50 watt models are $660 shipped to the US. About $110 more for 100 watts. I got the Satan used for $460 on Reverb. The Mark (Marcus he calls it) is a 2 month build. I ordered Dec 13th.

You can pick tolex, chassis colors and grill color. It’s not unlimited choices but there’s a good few options.

Yeah I mean for what you’re paying, the “price/build/tone” pyramid is solid for sure.

In his defense ....... being a great builder doesn't exactly make you good at customer service .... especially if you're busy as F-ck or the opposite ... lol

I get questions all the time .... where I just shake my head ..... BUT ...... I do .. do my best to answer as professionally as I can but man ... it ain't easy most of the time .

my most popluar one seems to be ... " can't you just put a Master Volume on that " ??

the way he answered you made me laugh .... but ..... it's an obvious way to NOT get a sale ...

My thing with that stuff is this can lead to so many problems. If they’re that dismissive now, what else would they be dismissive on down the road, after money has been sent. Not a risk worth taking, even at a good price.
Just like you did, he could’ve sent me a link to that video or just told me to google a certain phrase and not wasted a second more on a back-and-forth on explaining it.
In doing so he also would’ve head off anybody else asking the same thing.
Lots of tube pedals and mic pres out there where the it’s a glorified Christmas ornament or needs a backlight to look like it’s doing something.
