i been gassing for a fender stratocaster for awhile. But i play 80's shred aka nuno,lynch, dokken, vito, evh which wood should i go with ash or alder for 80's shred? i am eyeing right now the 57 hot rod fender strat with the tone zone bridge. thanks

Does anybody know what's the secret to Motley crue's Mick Mars and ex Ozzy Joe Holmes massive/thick guitar sound? both of them use Fender strats w/maple necks but they obviously don't sound like typical strats. I am interested in how these two guys get their heavy tones from fender strats.

i need some advice. i have a suhr modern thats basswood/maple top/maple board/floyd combo. i am tempted to switch out the Aldrichs on my guitar for SSH+/SSV? is it worth it?
