That's not right and you should not try it. If that were true, loads wouldn't matter at all and we would all be plugging everything into everything. :)

You can safely run an 8ohm cab into a 4ohm speaker jack. You cannot, however, run a 4ohm cab into an 8ohm speaker jack.

Bad relays can cause noise? I had a bad relay in a Boogie once, it wouldn't change amp channels. Nothing noise related. I'll look into that... I hadn't thought of that one. Thank you for the suggestion.

When off standby (power on), my BE-100 has a loud humming on all channels/modes, plugged straight into amp, no pedals, FX Loop switched on or off. Has anyone had this issue before? Preamp tube? Thanks!

I am hearing a popping noise, sometimes sounds like static, every few seconds at any volume (although it's more audible at lower volume) when playing. Not sure if this is a tube issue or not. Anyone experienced this before? How did you fix it? I'm hoping preamp tube at the worst. Thanks!

Got my (first) BE-100 and am about to order a Friedman 2x12. My question is; which speaker(s) provide the best Van Halen tones? Sounds like some are partial to V30's while others go for a mix of speakers. Early 80's VH is what I'm after. Thanks!! Currently playing through a Mesa old style metal...
