Have any of you guys compared the Rev E to Rev C?
I'm currently sitting on a Rev E & a Rev F Dual Rectifier.
I'd like to hear your experiences as to what I may be missing out on.
Agreed the market is slumping pretty hard. However, a III w/ 105pt is a rare bird.
According to Mike there were ~200 made with the leftover IIC+ transformers.
If someone bought it just to flip it, you may be in for a longer than anticipated ride.
If they bought it to appreciate it, congrats...
Looks like it has the 105pt. I have 2 III’s w/ 105pt’s that are Mike B modded + & ++ 🤌.
The transformer is hanging low enough next to that EL34 which screams 105pt to me.
Whoever buys that amp is coming up YUGE!
Baby’s got back!!!
They have a good refund policy, but their employees are underpaid.
I always call the store where the item is located for an assessment of the condition.
Generally speaking it is still a 50/50 shot the item arrives like described.
@Chubbs RS has always had the philosophy of moving forward not backwards. A limited reissue run perhaps?
I could see Gibson wanting to have the same success Fender has with their line of reissues.
It would be a good source of new revenue reissuing classic Gibson’s & Mesa’s.
No can do, most newer components are smaller and more efficient.
Part of the magic of the IIC+ was the way components interacted with each other due to its PCB layout.
I’m sure they could still make a killer reissue with lower noise floor using modern components, but it wouldn’t be a part...
@CrystalSky they aren't going to care much of what the diehards believe/want.
It is going to be more along the lines of what will turn them the most profit.
