I would just get one of those cables that has the kill switch on it ...... unplug the guitar ( no sound of it .. cause you used the kill/mute button ) put the guitar down ... pick up the next guitar ... plug it in .... take thumb off the mute/kill button ... ready to go .... something like this...

I've done a few amps in a box style pedals ..... I think the only one I put out was the slightly modded VH-4 I was doing ... all the rest didn't sound good to me at all .... I did not try the " SLO " though
