I've done it every which way and honestly I prefer the cabless operation with the head as opposed to hooking it up to a load box. You'll have to be the judge, but you can load your own IRs, and the ones shipped with the amp are great.
Edit: I'm not saying it's objectively superior for one...
I don't quite know what you're really doing as far as running that thing into both the FX loop and input, but I sometimes run into an ABY box to use my VHX and another amp (recently my Mark V) and it's always louder in stereo if they're at ~parity volume-wise in mono.
You're positive you cannot use your Neural plugins in GB? It's not further down in the track submenus (AUs)? I think Logic is worth the price (vs any of the other pro DAWs), but if you're not going to use even half of the functionality, it might not be for you.
I REALLY like the tones on The Glorious Burden. Gettysburg trilogy 🤌.
Still have my VIP pass and set list signed by the guys from one of the Barlow shows.
Been a fan forever, hope to hear whatever comes next.
Personally I like the K100s, tough call if it’s my favorite, but I would take those over the ST any day. In person they are not similar enough. Recorded is another story. Maybe if you boosted high end with an EQ pedal… maybe volume helps, but at any volume not requiring hearing protection...
I was being a little facetious with that. However, how do you expect to get "tone" out of your fingers if you're not feeling the music? That's why I said you gotta loosen up/relax.
I bought a Paint Audio MIDI Captain, and it works, but requires a lot more work than I'm willing to put in to have it function the way I want (I am MIDI deficient in skill). I don't play anywhere but home so walking over and changing presets/settings isn't bothersome since I only use a few at most.
