    Over the mountain 82'.

Yep killer live tone. Not like Tribute either. I was right down front in front of Randy. Gen admission ftw! Also saw BATM right down front and Ultimate Sin same venue. Both them played LOUD. Like really LOUD. The hand drumming is one of Aldrich’s things. He did it on this Diary tour.

More than one of the same guitar (brand/model)?

No, all mine are pretty different. I do have 2 Cobras. One Hollow and one solid with piezo bridge, different switching. Two SG’s but completely different. The rest are all pretty different.

New MXR Randy Rhoads pedal... GONE

The Script one I had was really good, this Block is ok. May have been different or just tolerance, will never know. The RI reg model sounds different too. Never really had any volume issues really, seems unity is 3:00. Any eq is probably fine, the MXR a buddy lent me to try. Iron Maiden...

New MXR Randy Rhoads pedal... GONE

I was hoping to get one to go with my 1959RR. Didn’t know they are limiting them…oh well. Not worth scalper price to me.

MXR sig RR Polkadot Disto +?

I didn’t know it was limited. Contacted one of my vendors to see if they are getting any. Will go good with my 1959RR. First Dist+ I bought was a Script logo and it was awesome. Have a block letter now and it is ok, but not like the script. Hopefully this will be like the script if I can...

Uli Jon Roth - "The Sails of Charon (Scorpions)" (1/31/23)

Only way I could describe it is more like strumming, not really picking and no real right hand muting. His action is super high too!

Uli Jon Roth - "The Sails of Charon (Scorpions)" (1/31/23)

It wasn’t too formal. I was most interested in his picking and muting. I sat about two feet away from him, watching and listening. He talked alot about tone. Only 7 of us. Course I thought about 100 questions afterwards.

    Back then bands were bands....

Yep, I had that Ibanez Rock and Play, still do even 😄. I would use that, run it into my Zoom Rockman type thing and pitch shift it back up an octave. Made figuring stuff out alittle easier. 😆

    Back then bands were bands....

You said songwriting in your OP… modern popular songwriting has little to nothing to do with singers /artists. Most are written by songwriters then find a suitable “face” for it. Again, been that way forever. Most popular songs of today have little to no chord changes. Compared to popular...

    Back then bands were bands....

Song writing wise? Um…nope. Most pop stuff now has no chord changes. I don’t listen to much modern stuff and what I have heard, I can always look back and find where they “got” it from. I like fast intricate playing as much as anyone, but there has always been that around. Classical...

    NAD: 6505 1992 original

Really? I bought mine brand new when they first came out…had the USA 6l6’s too….used it for 8 years straight pretty much, never a problem. Used it in the Maiden tribute and schlepped it around three or 4 states without a roadcase even. Have had 3 more over the years and never a problem...

Tom Anderson H3... what is it like?

The 3’s I tried were too hot for me in Cobras. Different in the longer scale I’m sure.

Tom Anderson H3... what is it like?

H2+ are what I have in both my Cobras. They are great.

What attenuator(s) are you using for your NMV amps these days?

Mine (PS-2) only has a difference if the volume is cranked getting the power section to distort. You realize this is not an attenuator right? Even using my Hotplate there isn’t much difference till you get to the last two clicks.
