If the amp is clean, it is in front with the rest of the pedals (but after distortion). For distorted amps it is in the loop (if it has one) or after the load box.
My Triple was biased in the lows 20’s per side. Increased it to mid 50’s per side. Like it better back where it was. Need to get around to switching it.
I like them better surprisingly. They are partially open back. Much easier to hear not being as directional as 412’s. Little less thump, but in a band mix they work pretty well for me. Downtuned metal etc might not work so well.
I find 412’s work good on deep stages where you can get out...
I was being a bit sarcastic in my original post. Always used at least two 4-12’s forever. Now it is either one or two 2-12’s. Still have 5 4-12’s that rarely get used.
Most guys around here just use modelers, but also not so much full bands play either…mostly singles and duos with backing...

Try lowering it away from the strings a little.
All the 18 v mod does is increase the headroom alittle. It is most noticeable on lower notes / chords and lower tunings. It helps with 7 strings too.
I don’t get the Siemens love. Was a major bummer when the Mullards went away and Siemens were left. Too soft sounding and the Teslas were too hard sounding.
Real 6ca7’s (with the big bottles) have more lows and highs…modern 6ca7’s, I have JJ’s in my Wizard and 1959RR. They have the same characteristics.
The small bottle el34/6ca7’s are just el34’s to me.
I paid $400 for this one. Doesn’t sound as good as my first one, but that had the Sylvania 6l6’s in it. This one sounds good too, just a little different.
Bought 5150’s multiple times. Bought one brand new when they first came out. Actually had the first one around my area. Really good amp, sold it 8 years later to get an UL. Just recently picked up a 6505, fun amps.
Those old Metal’s were not really metal amps. They were just built like tanks. My old Metal was cool, but voicing was quite different from even my Modern Classic. And my Modern Classic is quite different from the current stuff he is doing.
