No pics, it's gross. I was screwing down some siding clips with a drill today and it slid off the clip and mashed my nose picker aka left index tip. Blood blister on the end and under the nail. I can hardly type right now.
It figures, I just soldered in the new BG Pickups in the Carvin after...
So I'm looking to change out a couple caps in my amp, and looking over mouser's website there are a ton of different materials and construction types. Just what is the difference between the types? I mean, a capacitor of the right value should do the same thing regardless the material right...
Hey, I just stopped over at the sloclone forum and it doesn't look like it's functional. I went here http://sloclone.yesterdaysrevolt.com/ and it comes up with no forums. Do you need to register or is it defunct?
Man I love cheap guitars. Even more than that I love guitars that are bargains for what you get. Consider this: 2006 Carvin DC127. Hardtail, dual stock hums (will probably change the bridge hum), maple neck with mahogany wings, jet black finish, tung oil neck, G&G tweed case. From Carvin...
Totally agree. I still listen to sound clips even though there are so many variables. If you can get comparative clips like from Mr Lugo's amp shootout, you can get a pretty good idea what an amp is all about.
Besides, the very idea that there's a $7500+ amp out there is intriguing.
Larry clearly takes pride in his work, builds a nice amp, and puts plenty of personal time into each one. Just 2 each month? That's labor intensive. He can charge whatever he thinks his time and expertise is worth. Wasn't Howard Dumble charging thousands for phone time?
I have a tough time...
I'm mulling over a few different amp options, Orange Rockerverb 50, DSL 50, Carvin Legacy, Bogner Alchemist, but what is the consensus on the JVM 205. I know the 410 is liked pretty well.
How does the 205 compare to the DSL 50? It costs about twice as much, is it twice as good?
Consider I...
Whatever...you're all a bunch of Larry salesmen with ulterior motives...dammit..
FWIW just how much is a Dino/Rock Wizard? I suppose if I have to ask I probably can't afford it....
Reading the Queen thread got me thinking about Brian May's ripping lead tones. Are the trisonics in his guitar the key, or are they pretty much just like most singles and it's the treble boost on a tapped out AC30?
I've been mostly a combo or head type guy, simple stuff, and I have a few questions about adding a power amp to the mix with a small head and cab.
Scenario:
Blackstar HT-5
3 or 4 pedals
2x12 8 ohm cab
So I'd like to get more volume out of this kit without breaking the bank so I'm thinking SS...
So this arrived today, no photos yet, and I'm very pleasantly surprised. The case alone is killer. Over sized to fit a full V and be square, not a cheap case, and a perfect fit inside. Guitar needed string height adjusted and a tuning/intonation, but after that it was all gravy. No neck...
I just scored one on the cheap and was looking for some insight, settings, preferred boost (if any), miniswitch configuration, tube recos, that sort of thing.
Not that I needed another amp, but I'm easy that way.
I'm watching the VH-1 honors show with Heart and Ozzy and whatnot, when Ozzy comes out to do a few songs. So his new tune sounds fine, then they tear into Crazy Train. Ozzy sounds great, Zack sounds like he's got a wah half cocked part of the time. Here's the thing; I think Wylde hits about...
Let me start by saying I'm not a huge kareoke fan anyway, but my neighbors downstairs are going at the kareoke machine like it's got the winning lottery ticket inside. To top it off, it's all spanish music.
Now I'm not one to bag on someones music, if you like it then cool, but you can keep...
I have four guitars as of right now. Only one is worth more than a few hundred bucks.
Tacoma Dreadnought acoustic
Xaviere strat copy - $225
Yamaha RGZ621 - $250 after pickups and pots
Jay Turser SG Jr - $210 after tuners, bridge, and pots
It is possible to get great playing/sounding guitars...
I'm now the proud owner of a 2000 Fender custom shop '60 closet classic strat. Light relic, nothing rash, tone for days. I'm not worthy but I can't put it down.
And an example of the relicing...
