Not exactly a VH4, but I’m running 6L6s in my VH2. It came stock with EL34s. The new tubes are maybe a bit more open, giving more emphasis on top end sparkle and low end punch. Either way, it still sounds like a Diezel! (y)

I would really like to see the D-Moll headache! It might not have the name recognition of the Herbert, but would be more of an “apples to apples” comparison to the other 100 watt VH4 and Hagen.

Sorry for the delayed reply, FLUXX! My amp came from the factory supplied with the Redbase EL34, but has since been switched to the Redbase 6L6GCM. I wouldn’t call the difference night and day, but perhaps the EL34 was a little more compressed and midrange forward, whereas the 6L6 are more...
