Are they ever. I've been a Floater fan for years. They've been on hiatus while Rob Wynia does his thing but the new cd is really good, and a bit more guitar driven. Check it out. The Thief. They're touring too.
I've pared down my gear to pretty much a couple amps and a few guitars. I'd always felt like I needed two amps, the Mesa Electra Dyne for cleans, blues, and rock and Peavey for metal. I was bummed out at the gain of the mesa, especially after hearing other recordings of lots higher gain. So...
Ola Englund left Washburn and has a new line. http://www.solar-guitars.com/
Imports, seem solid, reasonably priced, not the usual fare for this board but sometimes you don't want to drop $1500+ for an axe.
I have no relationship here, just dig the Haunted and Feared.
I have a PRS with the rotary switch, and I'm not a fan. I like the coil splitting options so I'm mulling over installing a different switch, but I'd like to try to fit it in the rotary hole instead of cutting out for a blade. So I'm looking for something like a 5-way and find this 9 way...
So I'm flipping channels near the end of the blowout in NE and find this. I saw Zakk sitting with an acoustic and thought "this might be cool". Yeah....well...not what I hoped. He had it running with some light gain and, of course, a wah, which was rarely turned off. The song list was fine...
I can't help looking for gear, always the next thing. So I'm up in the attic cleaning out crap and what do I find? Peavey Ultra 60. Not the plus. I take it downstairs, plug it in, and this thing just nails the sound I'm always trying to get everything to sound like.
So I'm...
This is probably an 81 or 82 Robin RH-2. Made by Tokai, it's probably about as early a superstrat type as you find. Thin neck, like a Carvin or Wizard 2, dual Schaller humbuckers, trem, body carves. You can see how this model would have inspired Charvel, Kramer, and others to head toward the...
"Deserves" is not an easy term to define. Typically I'd say you deserve to get what you negotiated. So what they decided when they got together, or agreed to in any subsequent negotiation, would be their contract to uphold. Heck, if RS quit and it wasn't inline with his working agreement he...
I just learned about a little local maker called Hovercraft amps. Big amps, little amps, they seem to specialize in Matamp/Orange/Sunn sort of tones, but a couple cross over to others. Some neat tones, and pretty cheap too. I'm not sure what the entire business model is, maybe some parts...
So yeah, I like Disturbed. Lots of riffs, pretty good swing to the tunes, not super shreddy but thick. Dan Donegan may be a little underrated as a player. Draiman may be a bit pretentious but it's seems like they give a full effort all the time.
Fire away....
If I buy an amp from you, you better send the power cord unless we have discussed it already. Dammit, I hate unpacking a new toy only to have to scavenge for a power cord.
So this is a recent show. Not a bad effort altogether. It looked like Thayil is using Mesas, maybe RA-100 or Electradyne. His rhythm tone was killer. Clear and crunchy. His lead tones were almost too clean, and I mean they were not smooth enough for what I remember them to be when they used...
I completely overlooked this band/record this year. Essentially half of Helloween with new material. I've always been a Kai Hansen fan, and this is a good fix.

I'm putting together a rig based on 2x12, mosvalve mv-962, and a Tech 21 Liverpool for preamp. It's the V1 without speaker emulation defeat. The emulation is a Bulldog/Alnico blue. So I'm looking for a fairly neutral speaker for the cab. I was thinking something like a Jensen Blackbird...
So heres the guitar I'm looking at.

I read some tech on Fugigens page about the CFS stuff, but has anyone actually played with it? It's not like those broken up frets (jet frets?) just basic curved frets. Anyone with input?
