Most of my amps are LOUD metal/hard rock beasts that I love; Splawn Pro Mod & Quick Rod, Peavey VTM-60. I have those bases well covered and love the tones I get there, all set with that.
I've been playing in several bands and projects that call for the opposite most of the time, nicely warm...
I'm on the hunt for the right amp for gigging in bar bands, mostly soul/funk/pop/americana/classic rock stuff. Nothing heavy, I cover that in other bands with other amps.
Right now I'm using a Mesa TA-30 that I've had for a few months now and the jury is still out on if it's going to work for...

Looks like I blew my Small Blocks in my 2x12 and need some replacements. Many years of abuse finally melted them I guess. I think recording my 120w Pro Mod really loud probably did them in. And by really loud I mean master at 2 lol. I was going to go with Scumback BM75s but they seem on hiatus...
Supposedly these are a return of the Penta Labs/Shuguang KT88SC (or KT88S?), which were my favorite tubes for my Splawn Pro Mod. A little pricey but I'm recording soon so I splurged because I miss my tone with the Pentas.

Anyone do it and what do you use? I want to get one for home jam space since my amps (Splawns) can get boomy in the room. I used to use an ART on my KHR100 years ago, but it was a crutch for an amp I didn't get along with. This would be just to better shape the low and low mids to my room.
