Yeah there are a few. I have a bunch more that I need to upload one of these days. We played Alrosa, Newport, Park Avenue mostly. Few others, can’t remember the names though.
Here are a couple vids from the Alrosa. Played a scalloped neck V back then.
Sounds like a cool place. We had the Alrosa Villa, kinda similar. They would have bands Thursday- Sunday. Usually 2-3-4 bands a nite and rarely ever did one band play more than one night. Late 80’s eraly 90’s. It was 18 and up. Killer pa an lights, nice stage. Good crowds and bands...
When I lived in Hollywood there was a bar called The Purple Gator. It was owned by Gilby Clark. They would have alot of bands in one night. Each band would play 30 minutes, their fans would leave and next band and their fans would be up. Rinse and repeat. First time I had seen that.
Nice video, your band sounds great. Stage setup looks killer.
I was in a Maiden tribute ‘92-93 era. We were called Powerslave and did the entire Live After Death concert. Our stage looked like the inside stage shot of the album cover. Had pyro and an Eddie etc. Very fun, I did the Adrian...
Bought one tried it for a few months. Never could get anything I liked out of it. Thought “it has to be broken”. Sent it back to Sennheiser and it came back the capsule was bad and they replaced it. Tried it again and still didn’t like the “electric razor” kinda sound so sold it.
I have a...
Different, not better imo.
I didn’t like the 421 either, actually Sennheiser for guitar mics in general. Same opinion on the I5, not better just different.
It was. Wanted to do it right after high school. Reality is I wouldn’t have been good enough to get in then. Was going to go after college then got the chance to do the original band, tried out for them before college and wasn’t quite good enough yet. Played with them from ‘89-95. Finally...
I missed the 5-6 night a week days. It was down to Thursday-Fri-Sat by the time I got out of college. Got in an original band first. We played quite a bit, had some good opening slots here and there. Bunch of “exposure” gigs that never pan out. Some paying gigs in between, was fun. We...
This vid sounds to me more room than amp. My recto in the room sounds more like that in the vid. Close mic’d 57 is ok for some stuff and I use it too, the 121 by itself is ok too, just different.
Seriously? They record pretty easily. No different than playing live. With all the tones around noon, stick a mic in front of a speaker and have at it. Need to punch in something the next day, just turn it on and it sounds same as yesterday. Dry? I never get this one, just add some...
Cause they could afford a Mesa? Or they got their record company advance and went to GC and blew it on a Mesa setup trying to keep up with the latest trend?
I have both, don’t play crushing heavy stuff but both can be dialed in similar.
