    What is your DAW setup?

Thats too bad. For recording and video they are awesome. I am sure windows has gotten better, but no thanks for me.

    What is your DAW setup?

The Polar 2 works really great with the Tonex software. Its what I have been using to practice and learn tunes. Not big on the ST James plugin, but its ok.

Logic Pro on a mac mini with an Apogee Element interface. Also have the Blackstar Polar two channel that is surprisingly good.

Is it just me, or are Creambacks bassy?

1-12 cabs are difficult for me to get a tone out of them. So far a Mesa 1-12 semi open back with an EV is the only one I have had luck with.

Is it just me, or are Creambacks bassy?

It might not like the 65’s. Or the 65’s might not like the cab. Ive had mine in a semi open back 2-12 and a 4-12.

Is it just me, or are Creambacks bassy?

Yes the H30’s I had in a cab eons ago. Took it to a gig and kept thinking “ where is my guitar ?” The lows were eaten up by the bass guitar and highs by the cymbals. Mids cranked and still couldn’t hear it. A friend has a vintage cab with pre rola H30’s, same deal. Recording redbacks...

    Wizard Amp Models

I had been running 6ca7’s inmine and went back to the el 34l’s…it doesn’t need the bottom end. Sounded great at last gig.

Is it just me, or are Creambacks bassy?

I don’t find the M65’s overly bassy. Sound like a GB flavored speaker that holds together. Much better than the regular 65’s. Any H speaker sounds terrible to me. All bass and highs, no mids. At least for live they suck.

You know what really grinds my gears?

I used this on the Guild I restored. After readiusing the fretboard the original stain was gone showing the streaks in the ebony. Did a few coats and looks like it did. May paste wax it like Gibson does. I like that on my SG Custom.

Hmm…they have some cool ones. I have an RG 570 parts guitar I just put together that I was going to paint. Might be cool. Was it hard to do?

Is that a decal / wrap? Looks good. I couldn’t do that to my Anderson Tele.

    Wait a Minute!

Ive been listening to it. Pretty good. Not a huge fan of the vocals, some stuff he is alright on. The drums sound awesome on it.

Pickup for LP with big bottom

My SG is a ‘90 with those Bill Lawrence designed pickups with the circuit boards on the bottom. Squeal like hell and suck tonally. They had to go. First thing I popped in was the JB, figured it would work…nope, dull city. Duncan recommended the Custom 5…nope, no midrange, just lows and...

Pickup for LP with big bottom

The JB is my go to pickup in LP’s. Pretty much perfect for me. I like a tight sound. In SG’s I don’t like them though. The Custom /59 hybrid sounds great in my SG Custom. Years ago I hated the JB, now it’s one of my favorites. Weird how that worked out.

Pickup for LP with big bottom

I ran the Tone Zone in my old RG570. Sounded great in that. Sh-6 and Sh-5, too me bottom ends are pretty similar…SH-6 has more gain and treble in everything I tried them in. I put a Tone Zone in a buddies LP Studio and he loved it. He hated the JB. I was the opposite. 😎

Pickup for LP with big bottom

I like the Custom alot, big bottom it is not though. JB has more bottom than Custom. He wants big bottom, Tone Zone is similar toned to JB with alot more bottom end. It would be too much for me, but not every guitar responds to the same pickups.

Do the Washburn Nuno N4 have some type of treble bleed installed in them?

    Yes. Those guitars are bright.

Rig-Talk, the last haven for real musicians

Around here there are very few young bands. My band is pretty loud. Drummer pounds the kit, bass player has a 700 watt Aguilar stack and I have my 100 watt Wizard, no 4-12 anymore though. Still have some but I don’t feel like moving them anymore. 2-12 or two 2-12’s. Most bands around just...
