Hi Alex, or anyone else that can answer this for me. Based on this diagram.
Where would V1 be? I ordered some preamp tubes from Dougstubes.com. Based on his recommendations, I have different graded tubes for V1, V2, V3 and PI. The PI is clearly labeled and I hear that V1 should be closest to...
I played a CS Rory Gallagher Strat the other day. Just as Relic'd and right around the same price. It also had 5 Sprezels and a Klusion (i think) like Rory had. Nice player and sounded great but I wouldn't pay that for it.
I guess the originals are far different than the newer ones. One of my favorite guitarists, Chris Duarte, used/uses one. Again though, another Strat player. Maybe there's something to that
I played a LP Special at GC the other day. Selector switch was upside down, switch tip missing, action was terrible. When I told the sales guy, he just laughed and out it back on the wall. With a good setup, however, it would have been a great guitar.
The MyLesPaul forum is great. I'm on it. Go to the first sub forum and check out a couple of the stickies. All you need to know. Myself, I have a 2010 Traditional Pro Gold Top. 60's neck, non chambered. I got it new for $1700. This it the day I bought it.

I had an AD30TC head. I sold it in favor of my Rockerverb. I miss it. I love my RV and would choose it again. If only I could afford to keep both. Channel 1 is supposed to be based in the single channel AD30. I wish I had the opportunity to play it at the volume he had it in that clip. I'm sure...
That is cool. I saw the Keynote from NAMM. It's $499 us and doesn't just test tubes to see if they're any good, It measures their value as it pertains to gain. skip to 4:30

If you decide to go the Xotic BB route, hit me up. I have one for sale. I also have a Way Huge Green Rhino, Marshall guv'nor(not the black box) and MXR Custom Badass 78 Dist.
I find JJ's are as good a place as any to start. They're 6v6s are supposed to be pretty good. Check Eurotubes.com. Chances are they have a re tube kit designed for your amp.
