hello i was wondering what the power range (90to180W) on the VH4 was due to? cause if it just depends on the type of tube one put in the power section, then why the herbert specification is only 180W and not a range like on the VH4, since both can be used with different types of tube.... i've...

nice explaination...but isn't it easier to say that the mid cut has just a more "localized" effect that the mid EQ section...? like it just kills the nasty sissy frequency within the medium spectrum so that it sounds metal! :D or have i all wrong?!! :lol:

for me as well it depends on the volume and the guitar i play, but at home volume i use a lot of presence (almost to the full!) whereas when playing live or rehearsing i have it between 12 and 2 o'clock ...that's what is cool with presence...you can shine at any volume!!

maybe i'm biased cause i already own a herbert, but if you're looking for Xtrem or modern metal sounds, the herbert is to me the only one which can achieve it... the VH4 is not brutal enough for that kind of tone IMHO :D

your deep knob has certainly a problem then, cause i tried it this afternoon to be dead sure (which i already was but..) and at any volume you can feel a pretty significant difference between no deep and full deep!...try to ask peter maybe he has an inkling where the problem comes from... :?

well depends on what ones call low volume (ya deaf or what!???lol) but if i play with channel volume at, let's say 7'o clock, which is quite low IMHO (!), and master knob set in a likewise manner, to me it makes quite a huge diffrence if i turn deep knob to the full! :o ps= i play on a homemade...

i was just wondering what was the use most of you made of these two master volumes? is it crystal clear to you that M1 is for rhythm and M2 for leads or do you just stick to one or the other, you don't bother to think about that sort of thing? i mainly use M1 for rhythm and i usually keep M2...

anyone mind posting some? plz :)
