    Which 2C+ exactly?

Were the Mark III’s short heads maybe? The long heads all have the full/half power switch on the front, regardless of the power section.

    Which 2C+ exactly?

Nice amp! Love the long heads 😀 It could be a 100/60W or a Simul-class amp. There’s no way to tell without opening it up and look at the output transformer and the chassis code written on the side of the chassis. Some long chassis simul amps had a Simul-class sticker on the back or over the...

Help me spot check some recorded tones? (Heavy MESA content)

The volume settings make sense for live use. Although, if you only have a few clean passages (as I suspect) I would rather just lower the neck pickup volume and switch to that for the clean parts. To me it actually sounds pretty decent with EMG 81 on C++. Instead of sacrificing the distorted...

Most overrated amp ever... pick 1!

It’s because it’s not his own opinion. It’s the opinion of Mark Lewis and I guess he must have the same opinion as the cool producer guy. I’ve seen Mark Lewis talk about the IIC+ in different forums and VESmedic’s words is basically copy and paste. I actually thought VES was Mark Lewis when I...

    Anyone searching for an MX-250?

It’s also tagged #espexp. He probably uses the same tags for every post. On his sale post on Facebook he clearly states it’s an EXP. So he’s not trying to fool anyone it’s an MX.

    Anyone searching for an MX-250?

It’s not an MX-250. It’s an EXP, which is the production model with bolt on neck and rosewood fingerboard. The MX has set neck and ebony fingerboard. Cool guitar nonetheless!

He also had a IIC++ according to this old post on the Boogie board. https://boogieforum.com/threads/double-nad-night-ranger-iic-iic.53614/#post-382473

James Hetfield and his Marshall’s used on Black Album to restore lost frequencies

Ooh that’s a lot of magazines to go through. I appreciate it man 👍🏻

James Hetfield and his Marshall’s used on Black Album to restore lost frequencies

Have you found that article yet? I love the Mark IV and I’ve really been trying to find some evidence that Hetfield used it to a greater extent. All I’ve found (so far) is that he used it on the demos for TBA. I’ve never seen it on any pics of his live rig. I’ve never seen any interview where...

James Hetfield and his Marshall’s used on Black Album to restore lost frequencies

How could you see the amps? The amps were hidden under the stage on TBA tour.

James Hetfield and his Marshall’s used on Black Album to restore lost frequencies

That doesn’t make any sense though. This backstage video is from Holland, December 1992. Around the 17.20 mark you can clearly see the IIC+ head. Sounds unlikely that he started the tour with the IIC+ head, switched to the Mark IV early in 1992, switched back the IIC+ later the same year and...

Ehm, Mark IV didn’t even exist on the Justice tour.

I’ve never seen James’s rig with a Mark IV. All the rig pics from TBA tour I’ve seen has the IIC+. Please post if you have!

James Hetfield and his Marshall’s used on Black Album to restore lost frequencies

Only Kirk used a Mark IV live. James used IIC+ throughout TBA tour.

James Hetfield and his Marshall’s used on Black Album to restore lost frequencies

That article sounds more like guesses than facts. I don’t know a lot about Marshall’s, but Bob’s “Asshole” Jose Marshall is not a JCM 800. I believe it’s a 70s Super Lead?
