    First Friedman Jose vid.

Steve doesn't hang out on the forums much at all anymore. I believe he stopped building them a couple of years back. I'm not sure if it was ever intended to be a long-term project. He was talented and his amps sounded great!

    First Friedman Jose vid.

I think it sounds great! I don't think it sounds any better than many other Marshall/Jose variants out there. I doubt I will ever own a Friedman amp. Cool amps but just not my thing. However, the one amp that intrigues me is the Friedman Plex. Side note, I like Michael. I interacted with him...

What do you guys like as a high gain JCM800?

3rd Power makes some great Marshall variants. I have the Kitchen Sink and I get great Marshall-esque tones. The gain channel was based more on a Plexi circuit but it behaves in a way like a Swiss Army knife for Marshall tones. Try one out if you can.

    Live AIC from 1993

Man, they were so raw and heavy for that period. We Die Young sounds awesome here!

Are real amps on stage becoming a thing of the past?

I am in both camps. I prefer to use my tube rig (3rd Power Kitchen Sink combo and a basic pedalboard). In my main band, I still use my tube rig as our regular venues allow for it. I love this rig. I was recently hired to play with a local party band that performs at corporate events and...

Kemper Profiler MkII Series is Here

I just returned to the Kemper fold about a month ago. Bought a brand new Stage and loving it. I don't make profiles, so the original is just fine with me. It's great to see them introducing updated features. Fractal also releases several updated or "MK II" versions of their hardware. I don't see...

What are your thoughts on the Diezel VH4?

I tired a VH4 and Herbert about 15 years ago. Cool amps but just not my sound. I’m just not a modern amp guy. I think they are great but just not for me. That being said, I would like to try a Bigmax or the Paul someday.

Marshall JVM versus JCM800 video by Rabea Massaad

I miss Scott! He was a great guy and knew his gear.

Decision- Synergy or Axe fx iii

Another great plugin suite is STL Tones - AmpHub. I've been playing around with for the past couple of months and it sounds as good as anything out there but somehow flies under the radar. https://www.stltones.com/products/stl-amphub?srsltid=AfmBOorZ_eCoiQMKliN91i0N2No4gVKVNs30UXp72cuqWYpYKv0iTSdF

Decision- Synergy or Axe fx iii

I recently purchased the Bad Boy plugin. It is really great if you're looking for a really good modded Marshall tone without having to tweak. ML Sound Lab makes some really good plugins as well. https://ml-sound-lab.com/

    IEM and Transmitter Help

I recently joined a party band that performs at corporate gigs and weddings. They are all direct with no stage volume, with the exception of monitors. I am really excited about using the ASI 3DME in-ear monitor system I purchased...

    Bluguitar Iridium and Mercury models

I added myself to the waitlist for Amp X months ago. I couldn't wait any longer, so I grabbed a Kemper Stage a couple of weeks back. I am really happy with it (I owned a toaster for 7 years). I'm sure I will check out the Amp X when it finally releases. Blug makes great gear and it takes time to...

Incredible Marshall Tones In Your Computer - Bogren Digital BDM Pack

I picked up the Bad Boy plugin. Sounds fantastic. I got lost in it for about 2 hours on Saturday playing through it.

Given that Charvels are better than Fenders.........

I'm deeply entrenched in the Tom Anderson builds but I have been following Curt and his Chubtone guitars for a few years now. High-quality, beautiful instruments that are closer to the Charvel custom shop builds without the long waits. If I was looking for a superstrat and wanted more of a...

Van Halen - On Fire - Raw Guitar Track

I agree. I love Eddie. Always have and always will but I felt that as VH went on his leads became retreads of the older stuff or just stuck to his iconic licks. His rhythm is always what kept me listening. I sound and play nothing like him but he really got me to hone in on my rhythm playing.
