If I hadn't heard them side by side, my ears would have said they sound exactly the same. But, the Wallace had a little more of a "muffled" thing going on - sounded great, but slightly muffled.

They're both killer. Who's to say what some knob turning would do to be even closer. Maybe the 66 sounded just like the Wallace when it was new too. The difference only equates to which one plays best with which guitar and pickup combo you have but you don't really lose with either choice.
