Anybody doing it? Liking it? Too flubby?
The lack of bass would be my main concern. Playing through an ubercab right now. I got a quad of 16 ohm greenbacks just sitting here. I really don't have any complaints about the speakers that are in there I've just always loved greens so I'm curious. I don't play metal. I keep the gain on the amp at noon and play hard rock and even some funky stuff on it w my strat. I never get the volume past halfway so I don't think I would blow them. I was also thinking two greens on top and two v30's on bottom. Theoretically getting the nice mids and highs out of the greens and the low end thump out of the V30's which would be right on the floor. It's a front loaded cab so speaker swapping would be easy enough if I tab the wires.

I've heard of many people liking V30s and Greenbacks in an X pattern with Uberschalls. Lasse Lammert uses that, as well as Zacky Vengeance of Avenged Sevenfold.

Man, ive wondered the same thing. I would imagine you could get some killer lead sounds with greenbacks, or greenbacks x-patterned with v30s.

Still think the 75/30 mix can't be beat.

But I never knew Lasse ran this mix - his tone's pretty sick.

Tried Grennbacks yesterday with my modded XTC. They sounded great. It was my first time with Greenies and I must admit that I am still impressed with that creamy liquid sound.

Low wattage could be a problem here, had to switch the amp to 50W to be safe. But it still sounded massive.

Greenies are big part of Doug Aldrich's tone IMO, alongside his modded JMP's.

Regards, Andy :)

I ran a TJ with scumbacks M75/55s in an X pattern. No flub at all, low or high volumes. Very tight.

I have an Uberkab with the usual 75/V30 mix in an X pattern as well as a Bogner 4x12 cab loaded with Greenbacks. My Uberschalls are both Rev Blue and I have used the Greenback cab live on multiple occassions with my Uber. It works great! My band does 80's hard rock covers. I run the gain knob on the distortion channel at about 1:00 O'clock. It works for me :)

When I replaced the t75 with greenbacks it took the uberkab to a whole new level.
All the minor issues I had with it (stuffy/wooly low mids and brittle high end fizz) were gone entirely.
Loving it

i own a uber and used it with my evh cab that has greenbacks but i wasnt a fan.
i will stick with my uberkab and mesa cab, my uber is a rev blue and i didnt like how the lows sounded or the top end.
overall it just wasnt for me, i still like the v30/75 combo the best or all v30.

I've got an uberkab and a mojotone straight cab with weber legacy's and I like them both with my rev2 for different things. The weber cab still pumps out tons of low end, but its just not as thick as the uberkab. I have the anti-fizz mod on my rev2 and with it engaged thru the weber cab, bass rolled off slightly it takes on more of a modded Marshall sound, more of a vintage vibe, but heavier tones. If I could only play one cab it would probably be the weber for versatility.
