A while back before I bought my 4104, I was eying a Fryette/VHT Pittbull 50CL located in guitar center several states away. 1.5 k$ seemed fairly respectable, but at the time out of reach so I went with the 4104. Still kinda is, but now that same amp popped up at my local GC after someone else bought and returned it. It feels good to play so far... at easy listening volumes I already feel the air it's pushing... GC employees said I can use the sound-isolated lessons room to turn it up loud next time I'm in the store... that they'd be willing to make an offer on the 4104... I could even bring my Marshall into the sound isolated booth for side-by-side comparisons. Gah! Chances are I'll keep the Marshall for various reasons, not the least of which being the 4104 is better documented and likely easier to service and/or mod to taste.

If any forum members want to make the decision to keep the 4104 easier, here's the link to buy the VHT: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/VHT/1993-Pittbull-Classic-Combo-C-100-CR-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp.gc

If the phone clerks can't answer any questions about the amp, let me know and I can find out next time I'm in there.

That was local to me a few weeks ago (CT store).. not a super common configuration. Those VHT are flexible but can be a bit dry & unforgiving.
Never hurts to have a good Marshall though

I personally wouldnā€™t sell that Marshall. That amp covers a lot of ground in the music worldā€¦ and it looks bad ass. If you want a new amp to try; just buy it if you have the funds then you have more to fiddle with.

Bad idea to trade a classic Marshall for anything but another classic Marshall. Maybe if someone was offering a Wizard....

Yeah, after some more time to stew I doubt I'll trade the Marshall. Find a good one and don't let it go 'n all. @LPMojoGL's video of a '82 2204 (same year as my 4104) vs Fryette Deliverance helped a lot too in reaching that conclusion. Funny, since he's partly to blame for me getting the 4104 in the first place.

Anyhow, back to GAS'ing over DIY stuff. Though I still want to crank that Fryette at GC. For science.
