How is the Fryette LXII? I was going to give that a try before I sold my Axe II but it was delayed and I never got my hands on one
I run my Splawn into a Captor X at every show (I made a blended IR that sounds killer) so the FRFR thing is not foreign to me , I just could not get "the feel" with the fractal that I do with my Splawn or my Mark IV
I think itā€™s an amazing power amp. Stephen Fryette knows his stuff. Iā€™m surprised they could fit it all in 1U of rack space.

I feel the same way about the Diezel Herbert. I love that amp to death in the room ( gasp), and recording. It sounds insane under a mic. But live? It got buried everytime, no matter what I did. This was a 2 guitar band though , I think with a one guitar band it would ā€œprobablyā€ be fine. But even still, thereā€™s many people who make it work and sound great live, but many of those have way more resources than I do as well.
I think the 2 guitar thing gets overlooked often. Itā€™s crazy how much even just settings matter if two guys are using the same EXACT amp. Used a block letter forever live ran mids at 2. Other guitarist had his at 6 would only hear him. Both guys have to be on the same page or it doesnā€™t work. And I know you know this but the mids on 6 with a v30 and an sm57 sounds like ass.

Iā€™ll add the best sounding live acts Iā€™ve seen are real picky on guitars being dialed the same way as the other, same oickups, same cabs everything.

So youā€™ve never tried oneā€¦.yet, you know ā€œall modelers suck at itā€ā€¦.

you people kill me šŸ˜‚ greazy I know youā€™ve been around a long time but come on manā€¦.surely you see why that comment looks ridiculous.

Look people can hate on whatever they want, I hate on the most over rated amp of all time, mostly because it hurts a lot of those fanboys feelings, but thatā€™s a different story. But atleast bring some ā€œlogicā€ into why you feel this way. This applies to anything we discuss here: be it amps, guitars, modelers, whatever.
Every modeler I have tried sucks at mid gain and rolling the gtr vol back. Maybe the Axe is better at that, canā€™t say. Is it?

High gain and cleans they all work well enough. That is just a world I donā€™t live in though anymore.

Touch sensitivity is important to me for the way I pick hard and use less gain to achieve a certain chunk.

The transformer design is the key to that part.

Interesting listening to the technical explanations from the professor, pretty sure he describes it on a clip or 2.

You'll learn how to read someday, gramps.

If you have 5g... and using a galaxy... at least pn my 24 ultra you can get around the 5g. It's hidden as fuck on the new phones can't be accessed through a regular menu.

Go to the dial pad, dial:
*#*#4636#*#*

Notice the pound and star order,.are not same, but mirrored. Type that in ans phone will open a secret screen.

Select "phone information"

Go to where it has your "lte, cdma, gcma" whatever as service usually there's 4 listed. Click that and a menu pops up with other options.

Select the "LTE Only" option. And write down or screenshot your old one before doing this so you don't forget what it was if you want to get back to your 5g.

Then you just hit back and you are on 4G high speed, 5g doesn't even connect. If you want it back, enter code and just select what it was before.

Where it shows the connection type, my iPhone 4 just says "Ligma".

So if push came to shove the amps in your sig. You keeping one of the amps. Or the fractal?

Of course Iā€™d keep my amps. Just based on sheer rarity. My morin Marshall? Virtually impossible to find. Rev F recto? Not super rare, but extremely expensive and only getting higher. I have the first Rhodes colossus ever made. Soooo yes, of course Iā€™d keep my amps first? Who wouldnā€™t? I also have the ability to use them as i want as well, so thatā€™s a factor as well.

I completely disagree. The axe
With a killer tube power amp is no different than a ā€œrealā€ amp. In fact Iā€™d argue using the axe as a preamp and a killer tube poweramp with a cabinet and micing it up like you would any other setup yields even better results than running the axe direct.

Also, again, the pros and cons list. The in the room
Tone is completely useless to me and to anyone who records or plays on the type of stages I was. Couldnā€™t care less even if it was true ( itā€™s not).
This is my experience also. I use the axefx as a preamp and amplify it with a tube poweramp. I donā€™t have a lot of experience using it with a solid state poweramp, I would imagine itā€™s not as good. I have used it direct though with in ear monitors and had good results. But with a tube poweramp and a 4x12 there is no compromise. The live tones I get are just as good as all the tube heads I used in the past.

Nice to have the best of both setups. Great tube amp and a good modeller.
Sometimes the ears don't agree with the brain on what sounds good to you.

Some days I use the amp and others, the FM9T.

All good either way.
