🚨 Shots Fired 🚨

So you stand by the alleged cop that went up to the rooftop and left because shooter had a gun? I mean would could he have done right?
cops are usually armed; he could have used the ladder if it was above the roof / or stay below the roofline and fired at the shooter

Interesting but seems highly conditional
Dude, they took guns from people who were left with no way to stop looting, which was rampant. And most of those people never got their guns back. It was bad enough that laws were passed in states all over the country to prevent it from ever happening again. The cops or the government disarming you in a national emergency is a serious violation of your rights.

I’m curious, does anyone know anyone who has ever actually had their guns taken away from them? Serious question.
I have an in law facing federal firearms charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He became a felon in the first place because he had illegally manufactured machine guns prior to that that were stolen, traded, and then when whoever had them got caught, was traced back to him.

Unlike civilians, he has a duty. My guess is that cop will be looking for a new job.

PLX said you can’t take a gun away from someone that is armed

Honestly that seems like a good reason not to be able to carry a firearm to me

Just because the gun rights lobby has been successful so far at staving off the democrat plan for your 2A rights, that doesn't mean they aren't trying to take your guns. "Hell Yes we're going to take your AR-15" - Beto " The NRA is the enemy" - Hillary "We banned assault weapons before and crime went down" ( Provably false) We need to ban 9MM handguns. Red flag laws and universal background checks will save lives ( also bullshit) - Biden.

The Biden DOJ ( ATF technically) unilaterally changed the definition of "Receiver" and banned 80 % Lowers and pistol braces. They changed the definition of "Machine gun" and banned forced reset triggers and bump stocks. They changed the definition of who is in the business of selling guns and made a rule change which means you will need to get an FFL or go through an FFL to sell a gun to your brother or your buddy.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Just because you aren't aware of things that doesn't mean they aren't happening.
Thankfully, the Supreme Court reversed Chevron limiting the power of Federal agencies, including BATFE, to interpret laws however they choose.

It remains to be seen how this will playout, as it was only done on 7/12/2024; and it costs a lot of money to defend yourself against the BATFE in court.

That is sorta the definition of condition though.

I'm not really sure what you mean there. He was quite trustworthy with, and knowledgeable about guns, he just got into making weapons with full auto capabilities when he shouldn't have.

so a cop not doing his duty though armed?

sounds like those cops in Florida that waited outside while unarmed kids and teachers were being murdered in their school (I heard the cops in question have been sentenced to prison).

much easier to force someone to do things if you're armed and they're unarmed.

Maybe..

In any other situation, he probably did exactly what he should have done.

However, in a high-profile situation like this, he'll probably be hung out to dry.

What are you trying to get at ? Conditional ? Who fucking cares. The government in general wants you disarmed. And for obvious reasons. Without someone to keep them from doing it they would eliminate your rights altogether tomorrow.

2A doesn't prevent citizens from owning or making any weapons; un-Constitutional infringements do that. Too bad Congress doesn't care, and the Supreme Court won't be able to rule on all the infringements anytime soon

I don't think so. A guy with a gun going to a sniper hide and he was supposed to retreat ?

Japetus gave me an example of the government taking away guns. I said it was interesting but seemed conditional. As in to me it seemed more about the condition that was happening and not directed at gun rights. I didn’t say if I thought it was right or wrong

I agree. My point was some guys get deep into it and winding up assembling stuff that is not conducive to remaining a free man. I will say that I believe any felon who has served their sentence should have their rights restored automatically. If you can't be trusted with a weapon you shouldn't be released onto the street.
