100b air switch ?

what does the air switch do and can it be put into the 101b xtc?
 
To my ears, the air switch adds a touch more mids. As far as adding it to a 101b, I think throwing an eq in the loop and raising the mids would get you almost there. As far as tone, nothing sounds like a 100b.
 
Thanks for the info. Seems like some cool features on the 100b wish they would have kept them. There's also three different brights for the blue channel right? Oh we'll love my 101b and it's totally stk
 
Yes. As well as on the red and clean channel. To me, the variac switch is the best feature. It's awesome to be able to get the thump and sound of the tubes at a decent stage volume.
 
forgot about the variac, that should be on every amp. For the gigs I play (small bars) its a constant struggle. Don't know why Bogner changed it? Must have been to expensive to make.
 
I actually toyed with the air switch today. It's more of a middle high boost, but not really a boost if that makes sense. I guess it's just a frequency shifter.
