I've heard that exact amp in person. Whoever ends up with it will be very happy.

I have one. Very reasonably priced - I'm almost tempted to get another

I know, me too… And from the wording of the ad it looks like he's open to some type of offer…

He wants $4K & wants to sell it outside of Ebay using a wire-to-wire transfer. I was ready to buy it offline using Paypal but he balked. $4K for no protection against any issues? No thanks!!

Actually I wanted you to wire it to my bank account. A bit different than just sending it to who knows where. Like I told you, I have references selling high dollar gear internationally and domestically, almost 100 positive ebay transactions, and positive iTrader feedback.
I understand you wanting protection but Paypal skews their protection completely towards the buyer and it seemed too much risk to me at the time. There are many risks for me as a seller also as I'm sure you're aware. Sorry we weren't able to do business.

Out of curiosity where did you hear it?

A bit overpriced I think. You've had it on craigslist for a year. Several others have came and went for under 3k. Its also spelled wrong it's ecstaSy not ecstaCy. I've owned a couple and would like one again.

Good luck finding one for under 3K. You should have bought one of the several you saw for that price.

Thanks for catching the spelling..

I have no issue with you using Ebay as an advertising mechanism to get an offer offline and save money. That's between you and Ebay. But if the amp sold at your asking price on Ebay, you'd be required to accept Paypal payment or an acceptable substitute. Cash transfer between bank accounts is not listed as an acceptable method:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/acc ... categories

My desire to use Paypal is in the event there is *some* issue during the shipping process or if there is an issue specific to the mechanical functioning of a vintage amp. Paypal functions no different than any other credit card service during a dispute. It's not any reflection of your honesty as a seller or my honesty as a buyer. As a frequent buyer and seller of gear, much of it boutique, I completely understand your reticence. There are shits out there (guess the correct term is scammers) that try to ruin things for everyone else. Were it a local deal, I would have no issue checking the amp out in person and handing you $4000 cash. I've had 2 100b's and I want another. High ticket items deserve additional scrutiny - on both our parts, hence the stalemate.

I have no doubt you'll be able to sell the amp & I hope you don't take this personally. From both sides, we need to cover ourselves. Just smart business. It's a great amp. Good luck with the sale.
