100W Diezel Einstein - Serial Loop Return?

I just pulled out my Marshall JMP1 and ADA MP1 and installed in a shockrack. Figuring I'd play each, I plugged the "out" from the preamps into the serial "return" of my 100W Diezel Einstein.

No sound. Nothing.

I plugged the speaker emulator (compensated out) from the Marshall JMP1 into the PA - Marshall tone galore!

Checked Rig-talk, and saw all of Olaf's posts on testing fuses by plugging the guitar directly into the serial return.

No sound. Nothing.

Saw Peter D's post on turning down the channel vol/gain, plugging cable into the input, and running the preamp into the serial return.

Now I hear hissing from the cabinet, with various hissing levels changing while I change the preamp channels.

What's going on here? I checked the mains fuse - it's good.

Is it the HT fuse? (no sound from the guitar into the serial return)

If so, is the HT fuse located on the internal board?

thank you! ;)

Ha, that's an easy one :D
The Einstein mutes its output if there is nothing plugged into the main input.
So, if you wanna hear another preamp into it's FX loop you should also plug a jack in the input

thanks Dass, like I said in my previous post, it results in hissing but no audible amp sound. the master volume does effect the overall output (loudness) but it's just hiss.

going guitar directly into the Einstein's serial return results in NO sound whatsoever. So I am thinking a fuse is out (HT?) if it is the case, I just need info into locating it. :D

Hmm, I didn't notice that you were aware about the input jack...

That's strange. Does the amp work OK? If you just put a patch cable between the send and return and play through the amp is everything ok? have you tried the parallel loop, with the "return" level maxed out?
Those are the steps I would take in troubleshooting the problem.

just today I was playing with a Triaxis plugged into the Einstein serial return, and it was working great.

ok, just got through playing the entire preamp rack through the back end of the Marshall JVM410. All is good through the JVM.

Then I try again with the Einstein. WTF  it works! Plugging the guitar directly into the serial return loop - Anderson tone!   WTF? JMP1 and MP1 also coming through.

fuck - could've been the cable into the front end of the amp that was messing with me?

Thanks Dass for the input!

oh, just for future reference - where is the HT fuse located?
thanks!
