Who is this? One of the Rig Talkers?

Found this clip and am pretty blown away. I've owned a couple and played a few Bogners. I might still like the Ultra best, hard to say without actually playing this but this tone is pretty insane.

Would be this be the most agressive model Extacy?

The XTC 20th has a slightly more aggressive Red channel if you’re asking for an even more aggressive XTC than that. But with a good boost and cab, the 101B can sound that big and aggressive though, definitely.

However that's a room recording, and those sound pretty boomy and sizzly and echoey by default. I'd say pretty much any high gain amp in that exact same recording situation would sound about like that.

Having said that, yes the XTC can be a great metal amp, though most people probably don’t think of it as one.

A standard early 2000s 101B model ecstasy can be a kickass metal amp. Most people dial them in smooth and fat for leads, but that’s not all it can do.

Red channel, excursion tight, bright 1, gain on 6, treble control at like 7/8 and you’re there. It takes boosts really well if you think you need it as well.

This all day long. You can absolutely dial in an Ecstasy 101b, sans boost, to do killer, tight, aggressive metal tones.

I had a '96 Ecstasy where the red channel has less gain than later 101b's and Anniversary models and I could dial up some great hardcore and thrash tones on it.

I like this clip. I compared it to the Rev Blue Über Clip on their side and prefered the Ecstacy. I had all the Übers except for Rev2 and i played the Ecstasy once in a Shop and i liked it.

The clip I posted reminded me quite a bit of the rev 2 I had but with a ton more hair on it for the XTC, where I'd definitely choose the XTC over it.

When I had an Ecstasy and a JCM800 at the same time, it was shocking how close the red channel was to the Marshall. But to get there I had to crank the presence and the treble. Man those Marshalls are bright.

Bogner uses crazy pots too. A treble on 6 on an xtc is like a 3 or something on a Marshall. You just have to turn the knobs in a way your not used to, but the aggression and tightness is there if you want it.

Yep, Bogner uses Log or Audio taper pots for their Treble controls as opposed to linear controls like most other amp companies do for their Treble knobs. These pots will get just as Trebly as standard linear pots, but it takes them longer to get there. It's effective as a design decision to encourage people to dial the amp darker because amp makers know most guitarists have a psychological tendency to want to keep amp dials as close to noon as possible for whatever reason.

Killer band. I’ve seen them a few times. Always killer tone. Pretty sure they stack boosts in front of Marshalls. SD-1 and a TS with everything at noon
Never heard of them before. They are pretty cool :) I just checked their Albums on Bandcamp. The Live-Sound in the Clip i posted is much better i must say. Guess they should hire the Live-Clip-Engineer next time :D
