16 ohm THD Hotplate w/a Mesa Triple Rec

Its that safe or possible ?
Whats the max watts of the hotplate ?

I spoke with Andy once and he said my 16ohm Hotplate was fine with any Mesa at 8ohm…

I believe 160 watts was his rough safe limit for the unit.

I’ve used mine for decades and the only time I got a little nervous was running it with an old 200W Marshall Major.

Keep in mind, when you’re running an amp at 8ohm into a 16ohm Hotplate, it only sees 1/2 the amp’s wattage.

Like Keith said around 160 watts.
I like the Hot Plate with a Rectifier because it compresses and smooths the highs.

It's not like your going to crank a Rectifier. I rarely turned mine up past 1 o'clock.

Only amp they mentioned was the Fryette Deliverance 120. They said be careful with that one. I ran it just not cranked.

I have definitely seen Andy crank a few amps into a Hot Plate.
